Tranquil Paradise
We have visited Sayulita many times but this was the first time we stayed south of town in the jungle. Ganesha is a little remote but for us that only added to it's perfection. I don't think we could stay back in town after this. The view waking up every morning is definitely world class. So much better to be surrounded by all that beautiful foliage with only the sounds of birds and surf. Ganesha is a tranquil paradise! And the pool is all they say it is and more. We loved our early morning and day's end swims!
I would recommend renting a golf cart though as the jungle is quite dark at night and for some the walk home could be a bit treacherous.

AMAZING
COMPLETELY surprised at how absolutely wonderful and AMAZING the Casita and pool were...! We will without a doubt be coming back here...! People have always asked me, "Where are you going to live when you retire?" and I've never had an answer because I was never sure. Now I know where I want to retire; somewhere EXACTLY like Ganesha with an AMAZING pool, 200' over the Pacific Ocean!

REPEAT Guest
We could have chosen any place to stay in the world but we wanted to come back to the Ganesha. A romantic, tree house-like, cottage that has a gift of restoring and calming. All you want within walking distance, but total seclusion and privacy. You want night life and excitement, it's a walk into town or rent a golf cart, (a private beach is also just down the hill ). There are multitudes of activities to do and rent in Sayulita! The Friday market is a fun excursion to try out and buy great foods, crafts, and art. Carmen cooks for us one night, it lasts for at least two days and it is the best food you can get. The massages that Lisa provides are masterful, I try to get in two a week. The professional espressos and chocolate from Jonah and Julia are fantastic, and addicting. All of this on the property only feet away from the Ganesha! I can not say enough good things about the set-up, the people, and the grounds.

Takes you away from it all, an oasis perched on a mountain over the ocean
My lady and I stayed at this wonderful little casita (small guest house) in March of this year and my were we amazed. The road to the casita is about a 13 to 15 minute somewhat taxing walk from town. We walked it many a time with a smile. (Rent a golf cart if you want) The house was set up so well with the landscape that everything blends together with the infinity pool shared with the main house, the outdoor shower (also shared) and the lower balcony with furniture and small bbq. When you walk into the house you are perched above the the ocean which is only a quarter mile or so away, but in full view. The landscaping around the place is picturesque, and there is a good level of bird activity in the area. My lady loved watching and I loved photographing the birds. There is a private walkway which leads down to the ocean, but if you rarely exercise or have any health issues I wouldn't recommend taking the walkway. It's fairly steep and low traction in some areas when we were on it. If you do get down the trail and head to the left you will eventually end up at "pelican rock" I watched and photoed the pelicans for an hour one day while Kate got in her sunbathing on the beach.
Once you're in town there are so many fun things to do. Eat to your delight at a discount from american prices. Be prepared with pesos because the ATM's don't always work well or at all on some days. You can get money changed a lot of places from dollars to pesos, but we actually had the best luck at "Aliya's Wings and Nachos" which was one of the first restaurants coming from the casita into town. The owners were great too, and Alliya is their teenage daughter and is very sweet. Stop there and get some nachos with shrimp and beers. We also Loved Rollie's in town. They had the best rice i've ever had and Rollie goes around to every table and thanks you for coming in. He is a very charming old man.
If you wanna go on a great informative and fun hike through native forests in the area contact Steve with mexi tracks. We had a great time on the local monkey mountain hike.
The place is a wonderful slice of heaven that hard to find fault with. It's really a place that's made for two. Despite being close to a couple houses in the area it is immaculately landscaped and as private as could be. This place has a treehouse feel which is like no other place you could really imagine. Enjoy in the infinity pool or lay in bed and stare at the ocean through the 180 degree open windows. We will be back.

As good as advertised
Casita Ganesha is every bit as great as its description by the owner. We enjoyed the sounds and sights of the jungle while looking out at the Pacific. The walk to and from the beach is arduous for us old folks. We rented a golf cart like vehicle in town to go around whenever we wanted to without waiting for a taxi. Sayulita is changing over the years, but we still enjoy its food and ambiance. The infinity pool is an addicting experience, especially when the whales are playing in the ocean beneath you. Nothing negative to say about the place.

Exceeded our high expectations
If you've gotten this far, you are wow'd by the photos. They are very accurate! We thoroughly enjoyed the house, the pool and the location. The views were mesmerizing. The abundant butterflies and unusual plants were also very appealing. The furnishings were very thoughtful, including fluffy, plentiful towels, basic spices and cooking materials, and even a few current magazines. Best of all were the floats in the pool, which made it almost impossible to rouse ourselves.

We were fine being 15 minutes away (by foot) from "downtown," choosing to walk in once a day and then take a taxi home (set rate of 100 pesos from the square), but going into town does require more thought than if it were a hop, skip and jump away. We used the recommended taxi service to return to the airport for a very reasonable 600 pesos/$50 USD, super fast and comfortable but it is also quite simple to take the bus to town and then hire a taxi to the house, which is how we arrived.

For us, the pool clenched the deal and the beauty of the home and its surroundings will replenish your energies in no time!

More than what we were hoping for, true to the photos, the ambiance and experience was fantastic!!!
We stayed at the Ganesha Casita and were overjoyed from the moment we walked up the path and in the door. Waiting for us was a delicious full course meal and desert cooking on the stove, (it was enough for several meals); beautiful views from every vantage point (it was like a 500 sq. ft. Zen tree house); gracious living space, (well cared for, clean, comfortable, better than average linens and furnishings); welcoming staff (who we will gladly call friends; a breathtaking infinity pool (that was our main entertainment for six days); and the sound of the surf gently taking away any stress that travelling brings.

This is a place that will give whatever you are looking for (except buffets and crowded common spaces)...we wanted peace and tranquility and we had it 24 hrs. a day. We slept with the large bi-folding windows open all night (and day), and we only left to investigate Sayulita or the very private Carricitos Beach, both are just at the bottom of the hill. We did have plans to do tourist things but once we arrived we didn't care about anything else. The Casa Carricitos would offer the same tranquility...but we are thinking of renting the whole compound and bringing our children with their spouses for a great "adult time" vacation, it is the perfect set-up for our small group.

Sayulita is a wonderful beach town that is easy to get around on foot. It has fantastic little shops that are not the typical tourist venue, great indoor eating and great fresh food stands. No high rise time shares here, only nature, great surf, sun, and sand. The open market had so much that we went back the same day to sample more of the unique variety of food and hand made goods ( local grown fruit, coffee, chocolate, fried breads, art, etc). We were invited several times to the evening festivities, so we know that there is a great night life also.

What would we do different? stay longer!

jungle paradise
this was our second stay at casa ganesha. the first week of 2013. hopefully we will have many more.the view from the bed is magical looking thru the jungle at the ocean.the palapa,s windows which we always kept open are like a horseshoe surronding the bed with 180 degree views with ocean and jungle views straight ahead and on both sides. WOW!!! the furniture is simple, and comfotable and orientated to the magnificent views. the sounds and smells of the ocean and jungle were aphrodisiacs that led to deep sleep and sweet dreams. the landscape around the casita is exqisite. since our last visit an ifinity pool in a zen garden overlooking the pacific was added. we spent each magnicant sunset in the pool and on many days and evening saw whaes from the pool. AMAZING!! the pool is the cherry on an already yummy sunday. the caretakers, lisa and daniel, live down a path out of site and they graciously attended to our every need and we had a total sense of privacy. we also loved the 10 to 15 minute walk to town thru the jungle and only took a taxi home at nite if we'd been shopping for groceries for our many garden meals at home cooked and prepared in the casa's kitchen. surprisingly we never had to use the mosquito net at nite even though the windows were always open. carracitos beach is georgeous and abot a 5 to minute walk from ganesha.. so blessed to stay here. stuart and mary laguna beach, ca

Sublime!
Ganesh Casita was fabulous!
It really satisfied my need for a classic luxury Tropical vacation hide away.
I was able to really relax there.
There was so much nature around...birds and butterfly's.
I even saw some whales ,
The ocean sunset views were stunning!
The location was fabulous....close to town yet far enough away from town to really relax.
I also enjoyed the short trail to the secluded beach below.
The caretaker's Lisa and Daniel spoke English and were very helpful with welcoming me in.
Wi-Fi worked great for checking e mail.
It highly recommend this lovely lodging for anyone wanting to cultivate peace and serenity.

Amazing place; house, pool, views and everything!
It might not be a good idea to write a really glowing review of a place you don’t want people to know about but I’m doing it anyway. Casa Carricitos is the perfect place to spend a week or ten days just basking in the glorious Mexican sunshine.
There are basically two different spaces on the property that are separate and secluded but I stayed in Casa Ganesha, nearby the gorgeous infinity pool. The views are to die for and the lush, tropical environment gives a secluded feel to the place. Casa Ganesha is large and roomy. There’s a kitchen for cooking, a table and chairs and a sitting area too, all in one. The big bedroom is also home to the living room and has fabulous views of the ocean and foliage. The bathroom is a warm and glowing tropical style.
You can watch birds, whales and the occasional local fisherman from your windows, the pool or the upper deck. Sunsets are right there with unobstructed views over the ocean. Often I felt like there was no good reason to even get out of the pool!
It has it’s own secluded beach that rarely has anyone else on it and you can easily walk to the beach closer to town, that has very easy access, on those wilder days of surf. Things like bottled water is provided and the wonderful caretaker/hosts live on the property and are there if you need them.
I highly recommend this place! We had an amazing time staying here and the cute town and surrounding area were really fun to visit. It was a trip to remember!
