Jaja Hacienda

Comfortable place with a relaxing back patio area. About a 5-10 minute walk to the town square. Close to the main beaches as well as some private ones. Check-in & out was simple. All around easy experience.

My partner and I had a lovely stay at Jaja Hacienda. The garden was our favorite part—flowers, banana trees, and a calming water fountain that we fell asleep listening to every night. I wish we could have stayed longer!

This home is walkable to beaches and town. Yet, we didn’t hear any of the downtown noise.

Effie and Steve were fantastic hosts. I’m appreciative of their hospitality!

This is one of the most beautiful places we’ve ever stayed. The lush private garden, lovely fountain, and beautiful interior are superb. As well, the owners, Effie & Steve, are kind and super helpful. Highly recommended!

The perfect mix of comfort, luxury and traditionnal mexican feel. Effie was a great host and made us feel so welcome. So many amenities like beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, all the kitchen supplies you can think of and pitchers of filtered water!! Honestly priceless! The location is perfect. 5 min walk to the different beaches and very close to all the restaurants and the best breakfast place is right down the street! Would recommend and we will be back!

Effie and Steve are both phenomenal hosts. They’re spot is just far enough to be quiet, and just close enough to walk everywhere. We absolutely loved the space, communication, cleanliness, etc. this is the perfect place to enjoy Sayulita. The hill was great exercise. Don’t underestimate it

Jaja Hacienda was perfect! It feels like a private little oasis with tons of privacy but was still close enough to town where it’s easily walkable (7 mins to town center but there a good size hill) but far enough where it was super peaceful and quiet, away for the bustle of downtown. Effie was one of the most responsive and helpful hosts! She had great tips from places to eat to which atms to use. She always answered right away and helped us with getting back to PV. There’s a woman who cleans twice a week which was very nice and the apartment had everything we needed. Wifi was strong (husband was able to work from there) and the king size bed was a bonus. Would 100% recommend staying here and hope to make it back!

We really enjoyed this casa and it's location in Sayulita. Effie was a great host and communicated really well. There was plenty of privacy and the location was a perfect balance, close to great restaurants/cafes and a short beautiful walk to our favorite beaches. The bed was super comfortable and there was plenty of airflow and ceiling fans to keep it cool. Great kitchen to cook meals and make smoothies, and the bathroom was spacious and clean. There is also a great outdoor space with beautiful plants and flowers, and the jungle life sings in the morning. Great sunsets from this hacienda too!

I have been visiting Sayulita for over a decade now. Every year I looked forward to staying at different hotels and/or haciendas in order to have a different experience each trip. That is until I found Jaja Hacienda. After my first stay there I was hooked! The location is perfect. It is right on the edge of town so close enough to be in the heart of Sayulita in 5 minutes but away from the noise. I love hiking in the jungle and I had perfect access to it from this location. Also, you are about 10 minutes away from Los Muertos beach (my favorite beach as is it not as crowded as the main beaches and still has all the vendor amenities of food and drink). The bed is luxurious and the bathroom is probably 3 times bigger than my one at home! The casita is about 5 years old so appliances and furniture are new but you have a feeling of true Mexican authenticity. And the touches of artwork truly make you feel you are in a special space! There is a great flat screen TV in the living area and I loved to lay on the day bed and watch my favorite NetFlix shows when I wanted to chill. And did I mention the yard!!??? It is gated and large with lush plants/flowers. Effie and Stephen nurture the yard and I always felt that I was in this leafy paradise (plus I had my own banana tree!!!). It was perfect for laying out and if I wanted to take a dip in the pool it was only about 20 steps outside of my room in the complex. The owners take great pride in this property and it shows.

From the start, our hosts were exceptionally helpful and thorough, ensuring we were comfortable with our travels and available to answer any and all questions promptly. (We thought this might taper once we arrived, but quite the opposite- truly the most hospitable, friendly hosts we have ever experienced.)

But the house?!? It is a short walk into town (and around the corner from Yah Yahs!!), just far enough to be away from the hustle and to be close to jungle views. The home was spacious, immaculate, and the decor inspired us endlessly! My husband and I were outside often, enjoying the beautiful garden and quickly fell in love with their dogs.

I can’t imagine a better located or more beautiful place to stay. And truly, the ease you feel when your hosts are as kind and accessible as Effie and Steve elevates this all to the next level!
