Joya at B. Turquesa in Sayulita is a stunning architectural achievement designed by PALMA Architects, that beautifully combines Miami and Mediterranean vibes on the Riviera Nayarit. Spacious and private accommodations provide your own jungle haven with rooftop ocean views and a dipping pool. Situated in the quiet North End of Sayulita, it is 8 min walk to the beach and a 15 min walk to the heart of Sayulita. PLEASE NOTE: This is an Adults-only villa.
The villa is laid out in a tower with a spiral staircase connecting all the floors. The building is oriented towards the ocean and designed to capture the lovely breeze throughout the house and keeps you cool after spending your day on the beach or shopping in Sayulita's markets.
Each floor houses one hotel room which makes each level private. Your room has an open air terrace where you can enjoy ocean views from the hammock swing or have your morning coffee at the bistro table or curl up on the sofa cushions and listen to the sounds of the jungle and waves. Your private terrace connects to the bedroom which has two walls with floor to ceiling windows so you can enjoy the ocean and jungle views from the comfort of your queen bed. The bedrooms have both air-conditioned and fans for your comfort. There is even an ocean view from the ensuite bathroom with large closet area, a walk-in shower with a rainfall shower head.
The rooftop is a shared space at the same level of the palm trees and feels like you are in the treetops. There is a small dipping pool to relax, pool loungers to get some sun and a seating area if you want to have some margaritas and catch the golden sunset light.
Guest access
You can park in front of the building on a private street. Sayulita is best explored by foot or bicycle but you could also rent a golf cart. It is an 8 min walk to the beach, a 5 to 10 min walk to cafes, bakery and restaurants and a 15 min walk to the lively town center.
Other things to note
IMPORTANT: There will likely be some form of construction in this area for the next 10-15 years as Sayulita is a very popular place to live. We currently have construction across the street from us that goes on usually from 8:00am to 5:00pm. Some days it is loud, some days it is not. We do not share any walls with the construction but there is still noise so we want to make sure you are aware to plan accordingly.
This property is not appropriate for children and guests must be 21 years old and older only.
There are stairs you must climb to get to the room and the rooftop.
Smoking is ONLY allowed on the rooftop. Not on the balcony or patio.
WIFI in most residential areas in Sayulita is unreliable due to strained infrastructure. Because of the house's distance from the nearest cell tower, cell reception is practically non-existent. We recommend you have a backup way to connect to the internet if you require consistent access ( bring a mobile hotspot) or connect from any of the co-working spaces or lovely cafes in town. We are happy to provide cafe and restaurant recommendations if you need!
Occasionally parts of town lose electricity especially when it is very hot and/or when there is a storm. This is normal and usually, power is restored anywhere from 4-6 hours. While this is outside of our control we do have a backup generator to ensure the water pump continues to work during a power outage. Please understand that without power it means there are periods of time when there is no internet access.
We kindly request that you only run the air conditioning in the evening from 10pm to 7am. This will decrease the chance of losing power during the day and ensure you are comfortable when you sleep. Please do not leave the air conditioning on when you are not at the property. Usually opening the windows and turning on the overhead fans are sufficient for cooling during the day as we have constant ocean breezes throughout the building.
Please keep in mind that being in the heart of the jungle that there will always be insects, lizards and birds on the property. We do our best to keep them out of the rooms but whenever windows and doors open they will enter. That is part of outdoor living in the jungle and happens at even 5 star hotels. We provide bug spray for our guests comfort. If you have a phobia or cannot accept bugs we respectfully suggest you book elsewhere as we cannot refund for the presence of bugs.
