Last month, SayulitAnimals celebrated its 6th year anniversary. It was on February 28th, 2009, that we first opened our doors. SayulitAnimals is run by two women only. Shelly Labovitz, and myself, Sara Briner.

Pro Sayulita (then GPS) has been supporting our efforts from the very beginning. I am immensely grateful and very aware of this huge support. However, I’d like to thank Pro Sayulita even more for their trust in our efforts.

SayulitAnimals has sterilized over 2,500 animals over the last six years. We do weekly sterilizations with Medica Gretel Fonseca from Tepic. We are also doing a monthly spay/neuter day with Dr. Rob Reiner from Canada during the winter months, and we continue to work with Dr. Charlotte Burns from California who comes down no fewer than 4 times per year. With her, we usually go to neighboring communities, which do not even have a vet on site, to offer our services.

Through our adoption assistance program, we have found no fewer than 25 animals a loving home in only two months (January and February 2015)!

SayulitAnimals goes at least once each month to the public schools here in Sayulita to educate the kids about animal welfare, environment and respect for all living things. So, if you support SayulitAnimals you are not only helping the stray dogs, but also helping to fund education!
