Liliana Marin, owner of In Love Photography in Sayulita, exudes a passion for photography, with the name of her business being representative of this deep seeded passion. “The name of my business, In Love, is because I like to be in love with life. If you can make something with love, it will be love, and I love what I do,” gushed Liliana.

Liliana moved to Sayulita five years ago from Mexico City after traveling here to get a Polynesian tattoo. “I kept thinking about coming back to Sayulita. I was attracted to the beach, and I could see myself and my business here. I really fell in love with the place. It changed my life. It’s magic,” Liliana shared.  “So I went back to Mexico City, gave my belongings away, left my photography studio, and moved to Sayulita,” she added.

As an adolescent, Liliana, enjoyed taking photos.  She always carried a camera with her and acted as the photographer of the family. However, at the time, her focus was dancing and as she grew older, she continued to move in this direction to become a professional hula dancer. “Then in college, I took a photography class and loved it. I thought, ‘this is very, very cool,” confided Liliana.

She then started working at the college’s photography studio, under the direction of a very good photographer. “I discovered I had a natural talent for photography and also found out that my grandfather had been a very good photographer. It was at this point that I decided to switch directions and make photography important, so I got a good camera and started taking portraits,” Liliana said.

These days, Liliana does a wide range of photography, including weddings and other special events, pregnancy shoots, family portraits, real estate, and glamour shots. “I do almost anything and I love it all, but I really like taking photos of babies and doing glamour shots. Babies are my favorite. Glamour is my passion,” Liliana said.

“A lot of people tell me that I see things that no one else does. I take photos spontaneously and catch moments and sensations that I cannot see until later. My models ask how I am able to capture them so well, and I’ve been told by some of them that the only pictures they like of themselves are the ones that I take,” she added.
