Description

Casa Rincon in Punta del Burro is a six-bedroom beachfront compound set within the private, 24/7 gated community of Punta del Burro — the last house on the beach, tucked into a lush palm grove alongside a tropical riverbed. Perfectly positioned between Sayulita (20 minutes north) and Puerto Vallarta (45 minutes south), with Punta Mita just 10 minutes away and the fishing village and marina of La Cruz de Huanacaxtle only 5 minutes down the road, it offers total seclusion without being far from anything.

The ocean is right outside the door — roll out of bed and straight into the water. A gentle, versatile wave breaks directly in front of the house, perfect for beginners, kids, boogie boarders, and seasoned surfers alike, and equally ideal for swimming, floating, and bodysurfing. The legendary Burros break sits just 150 yards away. Surfboards, boogie boards, and kayaks are all on-site and ready to go.

The property includes the main villa and four unique casitas, each with its own character and private patio. The main house has two bedrooms — one with a king bed, one with a tropical hardwood sleigh trundle — both with ocean views, two fireplaces, a library, a grand living and dining room, and a gourmet kitchen. Casa Rinconcito, the Magical Round House, sits closest to the sea with a queen bed and built-in sofa upstairs and a full living, dining, and gourmet kitchen downstairs. Casa Surf has sunset views straight out to the Burros break, with a queen bed, built-in sofa, loft, and kitchenette. Casa Luna is poolside with palm-framed surf views, a king bed, and a kitchenette. Casa Sol sits above Casa Luna with a queen bed, kitchenette, and sweeping ocean views through the palm canopy.

The outdoor spaces are built for long, unhurried evenings. An emerald green pool anchors the property, with a grand palapa alongside fitted with hammocks, a built-in table, marble counter, and a sculpted marble sink — all romantically lit and perfectly set for unforgettable meals by the sea. A brick grill and Italian competition all-weather ping pong table complete the picture.

Luis, the live-in caretaker, is nothing short of a gem. He lives in private quarters on the property and is on hand for nearly anything — building bonfires, cutting fresh coconuts straight from the tree, and making sure every day runs smoothly. His daughter is the full-time housekeeper, and together they can be hired to cook traditional meals that guests consistently call one of the highlights of their entire stay.

The property sits in a landscape that feels alive in every direction: coconut palms, fruit trees, tropical flowering plants, and a peaceful riverbed that draws an extraordinary variety of tropical birds every single day. Bird lovers will be in heaven. The library is stocked with books on local flora, fauna, and birdlife alongside titles on Mexican history, architecture, art, and fiction — plus a large DVD collection for quieter evenings in. Return Visit - Just as wonderful!
After celebrating my 40th at the house 14 years ago, my family joined by two other families returned to Barbara's amazing home this holiday season (2026) and made memories just as extraordinary! Everything about the home and the team is perfect, truly.

Amazing
Just returned from a week at Casa Rincon and we had an incredible time. Surfed a few times every day right in front of the property and spent all week in the many shaded areas. The food prepared by the onsite chefs was amazing and we had breakfast and dinner prepared everyday for the entire group. The entire staff and owner were awesome and we had no complaints. We'll be back!

Wonderful Place!
Family vacation with 9 adults and 2 teens. Casa Rincon was amazing- from the house to the staff to the beach to the quiet neighborhood. There are several casitas and it was nice for everyone to have their own space. Everything was clean and comfortable. The website pics do not do the place justice. The staff were unbelievable- so friendly and accommodating. The meals prepared by Erika were far better than the couple of nights we ate out. We had the best family vacation here & plan on returning!

Can't Wait To Return!
Casa Rincon is one of a kind and we cannot say enough nice things about the property, service, staff, and communication. First, the property is located on a pristine surfing beach - we surfed right out front of the property and had the wave to ourselves! The casitas are adorable and well appointed. we also loved using the kitchen to eat and the outdoor dining area for meals. The communication with Barbara and Ivan was prompt, clear, and super helpful! As for the staff at the property, Luis and Erika are amazing! Her food and his hospitality were unrivaled. We will FOR SURE be back and cannot wait to visit again soon!

Family Vacation of a Lifetime!!
Well after only a week of arriving home, it’s hard to believe that it all happened, but such an amazing and incredible time was had by all.

I suspect Barbara already know this 😉, but there’s something truly magical at Casa Rincon 💕. Every single one of us had the most awesome time, and can easily claim it was the best vacation they ever had!

I LOVED spending time with our adult children, our best friends and their adult children, who I’ve known since they were small babes, and the property is perfectly setup to gather together as a group with the option of sneaking back to your room for a nap or some downtime 👌. We played crib, cards, games, volleyball, surfed, waded, walked, relaxed, ate, drank and laughed and laughed.

The views, access to the beach, the ability to grab a surfboard or boogie board and hit the waves literally steps from the property is absolutely blissful, and we found ourselves in awe of all this incredible opportunity to be so close to the ocean and all its offerings. The large table under the palapa where our lucky group of 13 gathered to eat meals, play cards/games and just catch up and visit is amazing and there a big hammock set up as well for daily siestas. Heaven!!!

The staff played a huge part of our incredible experience! Erika and Cesar prepared the most delicious and fresh meals and are so quietly humble of their skills, and we all fell in love with little Julia❤️. We were very, very appreciative of their services as it gave our group (and let’s be honest, us mums) the chance to relax and enjoy meal time.

And Erika’s dad, Luis 👏 👏 👏- well what a kind and gentle soul who works quietly in front and behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly. He always checked in to see if there was anything we needed, and made sure we were well stocked in supplies. He even hauled down some pretty large logs for a beach fire one night - how awesome to enjoy a beach fire!! We gave him our supply pesos on Sunday and he kept immaculate records of all his purchases and receipts - we were almost bang on with our estimate! It was important to us that he wasn’t out of pocket for any of our supplies and we also gave him $20 almost daily to compensate him for his time. Casa Rincon has a real treasure in his family🥰

Carina was soooo sweet, helpful and efficient-we all loved her and appreciated her hard work on keeping everything sparkling and clean. Although we had a language barrier, we still did a good job of communicating and enjoyed seeing her daily!

I was so thankful for Pablo arranging transport for us - he had Brian take us from the Casa to La Comer that first day. What a lovely, polite young man who, without being asked, quickly assisted in loading all our alcohol and snacks (two buggies full😆😆) into the van and then he and Ivan (I think) unloaded and put them all away!! We were pleasantly shocked at that level of service and incredibly grateful. Pablo also had Brian take us to Sayulita for the day, and it set my mind at ease to know we were in good hands. And how convenient it was for our large group to have the covid testing nurse come directly to the house - ha, ha, sadly none of us tested positive so we all had to come home as scheduled😂😂. Hats off to Pablo for looking after our needs!

So in closing, when I initially started researching for this trip and came across this property, a big selling feature was all the positive reviews - I just knew in my heart it was going to be perfect for us and my heart was right❤️❤️❤️ Thank you so much and everyone is trying to figure out when we can come again - we are in love with this part of Mexico 🇲🇽

With many thanks…

The Drakeley and Reynolds families ☀️ 🏄‍♀️ 🌊

A little piece of paradise
It is difficult these days to find a vacation spot that is not only beautiful, but private and tranquil with a beach not over run with tourists. This private oasis is a true gem. Traditional Mexican architecture is combined with a location at the far end of a secure, gated community. The property sits directly on the beach with amazing views of waves and whales and ready access to the ocean. There are kayaks available and a few surfboards on property as well. I visited with my adult children and we had a fabulous time, enjoying uncrowded surf, kayaking with nearby whales (sooo many whales! amazing!) and walking the beach. Property manager Pablo is very professional and supportive and rented a car to us, pre-shopped groceries and made dinner reservations. The caretaker, Luis, is wonderful and had coconuts cut for us and prepared a beach fire on two nights as well. The staff is friendly and super helpful. Erika prepared some delicious meals and the kitchen is well-equipped if you prefer to cook at home on your own. The peace and privacy were so appreciated! We felt totally comfortable with the way the locals accommodated for the pandemic. We dined out at Si Senor in Punta Mita one night and the restaurant handled Covid precautions expertly, even the Mariachi band came to the table with masks and face shields (unlike nearby Sayulita which was incredibly crowded with 90% of people unmasked). A covid test for international re-entry was easily scheduled at Punta Mita hospital.
If you enjoy quiet and an unpretentious setting with all the necessary amenities for a lovely vacation-this is the place for you. Barbara, the owner, could not have been more helpful, answering my many questions , providing info, and making arrangements with support staff.
A few things to be aware of: there is a sweet pool, but it is very cold. There are urchins on the reef in front so aqua shoes are recommended, there are a few at the property but they are pretty worn. The coconut palms over the patio area drop coconuts randomly- watch your head!

Magical Rincon
Casa Rincon offers a perfect combination location, privacy, surf, sunsets, and friendly staff.

We originally planned to stay at casa Rincon for 3 weeks, but travel planning during a pandemic is fraught with uncertainty and challenges and we ultimately had to settle for ten days. Thankfully owner Barbara was very understanding and willing to support us with an ever-changing changing schedule.

The house is gorgeous, with a number of lovely casitas all designed and decorated with authentic charm. The multitude of buildings offers lots of rooming options for large groups, although we were only a party of three. The kitchen is large and well equipped and is a pleasure to cook in. Honestly, I don’t think the current photos do the property justice - it looks even better in real life.

The staff are warm and friendly, and we took the opportunity to have a catered meal for our arrival, and it was delicious. Highly recommended.

If you like to surf, it’d be hard to find a better house and beach location. The main break, Punta Burros is just a 100 yards down the beach, or you can surf an empty break right out the front of the house. And after your surf session, you can relax in the hammock in the palapa and watch the clouds drift by.

The house location is just a ten minute drive from Punta Mita, and about 15 minutes from Bucerias. So you have access to shops and restaurants if needed, and for that reason I would recommend a car.

It doesn’t get much better than Casa Rincon.

Wonderfully relaxing in beautiful setting!
All 9 of us ladies had a wonderful time celebrating a 50th birthday! Casa Rincon was like living in luxurious huts in the jungle and the beach was beautiful - calm for a few days and wonderful surf on the other days. Highly recommend have meals prepared by a chef during your stay - the food was incredible and made the trip all the more relaxing to not cook and clean. We also rented a car for the first time and it was great to be able to visit Sayulita, Punta Mita and Bucerias on our time. We felt very safe within the the Punta del Burro compound as well. Would have liked the pool to be a bit warmer and would recommend being very specific on time of arrival if you are having grocery shopping done in advance so supplies are available upon arrival. Overall, wonderful experience with plenty of time to relax, activities to do in a beautiful setting.
