Description
Casa Tejonera, located in the lush tropical jungle of Sayulita. Only a ten minute walk to the center of Sayulita.

This magical place is only few feet away from an (almost private) sandy beach and therefore boasts are an incredible view of the ocean. You can fall asleep listening to the sound of waves.
Casa Tejonera is our still our vacation home so you can be sure to enjoy the same level of cleanliness, comfort and service that we owners enjoy. We insist our clients have the same experience we always get when we come and visit our beautifull Sayulita home.

Casa Tejonera is a charming beachfront one bedroom apartment, located just south of Sayulita, past Playa de los Muertos, within walking distance from town. It is about one kilometer to the village on a beautiful road through the jungle, where you can enjoy nature and the sounds of birds. We do recommend that you bring flashlights if you plan to walk to town at night.

Guests to Casa Tejonera will enjoy access to the nearly private beach shared by three other houses located nearby. Beach chairs are available for guests as are a couple of kayaks. The beach is perfect for swimming and snorkeling, it is located on a little bay so the waves are very gentle.

Loved the staff.. Very very helpful .. they got me a gold cart because it was out if town and roads are very rudimentary, no lights at night.. ..nice to know before renting..
The room had an awesome view and beach.. there was some dirt in window sill in bathroom that needed to be vacuumed up and floors were not mopped before my arrival.. but other than that the room was standard...❤️ No microwave or hairdryer available either. Nice fridge. Toaster oven available for reheating things..

Perfect location for a couples retreat!
The setting and casita itself are perfect! So quiet and beautiful, and just far enough outside town that you don't hear any of the noise. Meche and Eric are very friendly and helpful, though be prepared to communicate in Spanish.

Beautiful, Peaceful Casita with Amazing Ocean Views
My husband and I just returned from a weeks stay at Casa Tejonera. It was absolutely perfect for us. It is situated very beautifully with 180 degree ocean views and a jungle setting. We're very glad we stayed out of Sayulita. It felt very private and was so quiet. All we ever heard were the waves. The little beach is nice, though when we were there, the waves were a bit too rough for swimming. The caretakers are so kind and thoughtful and they all did a great job. Many thanks to them for all they do. We will return to Casa Tejonera next year.

One of a kind peaceful oasis
This is one of my favorite places in the world. I’ve stayed at Casa Buque a number of times, it never fails to amaze me. The closeness to the ocean and private beach make it one of the best places to stay in Sayulita. The casitas are decorated with love and care, they’re practical and comfortable.

Beautiful views, incredible location
Casa Tejonera was even more beautiful than I pictured it would be from the photos!
What was even more fantastic was the private beach and the surrounding waters. The beach does only recieved a few hours of direct sun, but Los Muertos is only a few minutes walk away for late day sunshine. However, it is even more sheltered and better for swimming than Los Muertos is, and snorkeling from the beach out past Punta Sayulita allowed me to witness multitudes of fish and even a Olive Ridley Turtle.
The house it's self was cozy, and well equipped. The hardest part was deciding which patio to enjoy coffee and cervezas on.
We didn't mind the walk to town as at least there aren't any major hills to climb. We never bothered taking a cab or rent a vehicle. But you will want a flashlight for walking home after diner in the dark.
I would recommend Casa Tejonera to those looking to enjoy gorgeous sunrises and a lovely waterfront home during their stay in Sayulita.

Great Views
Our overall stay was pleasant, the caretakers were very accommodating, but only speak Spanish, the casita was clean and quiet, however, needs some updating.

the only way to stay in Sayulita
We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Tejonera. We stayed in the apartment above for 5 nights and cherished everything about it. The balcony off the bedroom is definitely not safe for children but we kept the doors closed and locked and asked the housekeeper to do the same. We loved the balcony off the kitchen, amazing views and refreshing ocean breezes. We found Sayulita to be fun, but very loud and busy and we were so grateful for our quiet retreat. We spent most days on the semi-private beach with great swimming access and enjoyed the walk to town when we wanted to be there. At night we slept to the sound of the ocean. Casa Tejonera is a beautiful home and the staff were very kind and helpful. The house was very clean and there were so many towels! If you want to experience the fun of Sayulita while avoiding the noise at night and the overcrowded beach, then this is the place to be.

Amazing
We have stayed in multiple places all over town and while this location is off the beaten path it is absolute paradise. I would recommend planning on renting a golf cart for the week to travel back and fourth to town. Perfect for couples who just want to get away from it all, private beach and amazing patio.

We have been visiting Sayulita for 40 years, we used to camp in our property , back when Sayulita was a tiny, quiet town. Our dream has always been to build and share our vacation house. We have created two beautiful Casitas to share with our guests: "Casa Buque" and "Tejonera" We currently live in Guadalajara, but go to Sayulita as often as possible.
