Description

Casa Aguila in Sayulita is a true Beachfront vacation rental that is steps from the sand, on the quieter north side of Sayulita, yet within walking distance to all the activities, restaurants and shops in the village. Enjoy ocean views from nearly every room in the house, and open the doors and windows to enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds of the waves crashing just outside your door. With 4 bedrooms, 5 if you cound the living room with its enormous adjoining bath, can be made up with a king or two individual beds. Casa Aguila accommodates up to 14 guests.

The tranquil location of Casa Aguila is set among a coconut palm grove at the edge of the sandy north beach. The traditional styling of this private and peaceful Mexican villa boasts a spacious shaded terrace with unobstructed views of the azure Pacific Ocean. The beach is accessed via a few private stone steps. The housekeeper is included at no additional charge five days per week, and there is the option for a private cook to prepare your meals upon request for a nominal fee.

Casa Aguila consists of a main house with 2 master ensuite bedrooms, a living room (which can be configured as a 5th bedroom), a dining room and a large fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The main house is all on one level which makes it great for those with mobility issues. Th separate casita is just across the small courtyard. The guest house  consists of 2 individual and separate bedrooms with ensuite baths. This is the perfect vacation home for an uncomplicated beachside vacation with plenty of room for a large family or group of friends up to 14.

Master Bedroom Number One features a king-sized bed with a beautiful hand carved cantera stone headboard, furniture and statuary of Angels and other winged beings. It has A/C, a ceiling fan, an exceptionally comfortable permanent king size bed with memory foam mattress and a fabulous view of the ocean including the surf break.  Adjacent is it's spacious private bathroom which includes a washing machine and walk in tile shower.

Master Bedroom Number Two is even larger than Master #1. It has its own private entrance that opens to the terrace, where you can lounge in the chaises provided and Master #2  also has a door that can be opened to adjoin it to Master #1 if desired.  Master #2 has it's own private bathroom with shower.  The bedroom is spacious enough to easily accommodate a king sized bed and two other single beds. It can alternately be made up with 4 individual beds and there is plenty of room for a 5th single bed when requested.  There is A/C, a ceiling fan, and this light and airy bedroom has magnificent ocean views.

The Hideaway Bedroom has a separate entrance from the main house, at the foot of the outside staircase and it normally comes set up with a king size bed, which can be split into two single beds upon request. It also has a toilet in an alcove of the room behind a shell curtain and a hot water sink “ensuite.” This bedroom enjoys a private outdoor shower. Its window provides a view of the ocean, shaded by mature tropical trees. Because of its location, the Hideaway Bedroom is ideal for teenagers or others seeking privacy. It has A/C and a ceiling fan.

The Eagles Nest Bedroom is upstairs, and was originally designed as an artists’ studio by the owners. It is accessed by an outdoor stairway accented with hand painted Mexican tiles. The Eagles Nest has unparalleled views of the ocean and jungle as it is the only bedroom which has windows facing in all 4 directions. This spacious, light filled, room comes furnished with a king sized bed to provide a very romantic and very private nest with a sweeping view of the beach and jungle below. The room is ample enough that, as an alternative, it can easily accommodate a king and 2 single beds or 4 single beds if arrangements are made in advance. This art studio/bedroom now contains its own contemporaty bathroom, with toilet, shower, glass vessel sink and granite countertop. The Eagle's Nest has A/C and a ceiling fan.

Bedroom Number 5 (the living room) The spacious living room is a mirror image of Master Bedroom #1, and it too has an enormous adjoining bathroom, which has a large walk in shower, and another washer and two dryers for guest use. As a 5th Bedroom, it can be made up either with individual beds or a king bed, if specifically requested. Unlike the 4 other bedrooms the living room does not have air conditioning other than the sea breeze gently flowing though it. Fortunately air conditioning is rarely needed during the high season months in any of the bedrooms. Guests generally use the broad shaded veranda as their living room and dining room, because the tropical weather is usually so inviting that everyone wants to spend as much time outdoors as possible with the beach and beautiful ocean spread out before them only steps away.

Please utilize the contact form to get in touch with any questions, and to request a reservation.

Please note all Events (including Weddings) must be approved in advance and usually have a separate Event Fee in addition to the normal weekly rental price if there will be more than 14 people on the property on any one day.

We accommodate beautiful beachfront weddings or other events for more than 14 people total being on the property (including Minister, caterers, musicians, wedding coordinator and her assistants, photographer, make-up artist, hair dresser, videographer, D.J., bride and groom and all guests and relatives and any other people on the property. In addition to a week rental, there is a separate event fee, that depends on the number of people and the number and type of events that will be held during the week, but it all must be discussed ahead of time.

Casa Aguila is fabulous!
My wife and I just stayed five days at Casa Aguila. The house is HUGE and beautifully appointed. Lots of local art, furniture fixtures, just beautiful. The setting is amazing. Right on the beach. We spent most of our time sitting in the covered veranda with gentle breezes flowing through. The house has a huge kitchen with all the pots and utensils you will ever need. Numerous nice bathrooms, large windows that let in lots of light. The owner is very engaged and wants your stay to be special.

perfect choice
When we were advised that our daughter was going to get married in Sayulita, I began my search of beach houses. I selected Casa Aguila, and I'm glad I did !!!...excellent house, beach views, and close to the city either walking or better yet, walk the beach. Also, we felt save and had "zero" outside noise/interruptions.

Wedding week
We are having a glorious time at Casa Aguila! Partly because of the fact we are enjoying time with our family during wedding week and partly because your home is exquisite!. The house is exactly the kind of place in which we love to stay when we travel out of the country... Your style is very much like our style...elegantly casual. We enjoyed the Mexican Revolution Day celebrations this morning on the Plaza... How fun it was!. The overall blissful vibe of this town is almost inexplicable - it is a slice of village life in Mexico at its best. There is so much happiness and hospitality - it abounds! Our family which included young children, feel safe walking the streets at night and look forward to it every evening. l I could go on and on but won't, except to say that the support staff you employ are delightful, warm, lovely people. We love getting to know them even though we do a lot of iPhone translating and body language!. The grandkids and Delia's grand daughter love playing with each other... Children have no language barrier between them... It's beautiful to watch them. Thanks so much for making your home available to us... We will not be anxious to leave.

Best option for our Sayulita vacation
If I could say it in pictures, it would be better because words cannot compare. I can confidently say that this house was the best option we could've ever chosen to stay while in Sayulita. We wanted a surfing town, this house is literally on the sand. We wanted a house with a homey feel, this house has that in spades. We wanted a place were our group of friends could join us without feeling cramped, we were never wanting for space. Our favorite time though was time we shared in the most amazing part of the house, the veranda. Truly a special place.

On the logistics side, if you've never been to Sayulita, as we never had, Richard is really awesome to work with. He detailed all the important stuff for us ahead of time. I was able to print out every bit of info we needed and it proved very helpful for all of us. We felt very taken care of the entire time.

If you are beach people, this is the place to stay, hands down. If you want to be close to everything yet not in the middle of it, this is your house. Who needs an infinity pool on your deck when you have an infinity ocean in your front yard!

Amazing!
We simply cannot say enough about how perfect our stay at Casa Aguila was. The location is stunning and the house is in excellent condition. We hosted our wedding at the Casa and could not have been happier.

Richard is excellent to deal with. He sends you timely and incredibly detailed information on the property. We had an issue with an Air Conditioner during our stay and within an hour he had organized repair people to check it out and have it fixed immediately. He truly goes above and beyond for his tenants. Delia the housekeeper is a gem. She prepared our wedding meal for us and could not have been happier.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for such a wonderful stay. My in-laws are celebrating their 40th Anniversary next year and want to go back and stay at this beautiful property with their adult children. I would recommend Casa Aguila to anyone!!

Incredible family vacation spot...priceless
Richard, I just want to give you a huge thank you for our time in Sayulita. Casa Aguila is incredible...really breathtakingly beautiful, both the house and the setting…elegant yet casual and relaxed, full of art that perfectly suits the hacienda. When we drove up, I would say the view took my breath away...the sea so close behind the magnificent tree...the endless open veranda (where we did spend most of our time). And walking through the house...a work of art...I loved every room, especially the master bedroom with the windows open on two sides...and the spacious bedroom on the end with the colorful little blankets on the children's beds. The upstairs room was amazing as well...open, airy, and lovely in its unique artistry…its own little retreat. We loved it all. The kitchen was perfect, so glad to have some plastic plates and drinking glasses!! We couldn't have been at a better location to be able to walk anywhere...along the beach or into town on the road...loved all the food and realized we didn't really need to do much cooking, as you had said. Even with the big waves, we enjoyed swimming right out front of the house...and loved being a little distance from the busiest beach. All of us agreed that we had the best spot in Sayulita!!!!

THANK YOU for allowing us to use your beautiful house, I am so grateful. You could well have turned down a group with so many small children. It seems almost a miracle to have found a house that so perfectly accommodated our family…from grandparents to a baby…fifteen people including seven children ages one through nine. It was perfect, with ample room and privacy for each family to have its own space. We are hoping to make a return trip to this charming, friendly town…and we wouldn’t want to stay anyplace other than your enchanting hacienda on the beach.

Wonderful week at Casa Aguila
Our family of 7 spent a week at Casa Aguila in March. The location is fabulous, right on the beach, away from the town noise but close enough for an easy walk to the restaurants and surf spots.

The new keyless locks worked well and we had no worries about hanging onto keys when we went out.

We were very conscious of security as the house is located beside a public beach access. We kept all our valuables, phones, etc. locked up in the safes at all times and locked the house even when we were on the beach in front of the house. Just extra cautious and we had no problems.

The spacious porch was fabulous for relaxing and enjoying the sight and sound of the surf. Delia made us a lovely dinner one evening which we enjoyed outside.

Casa Aguila is a comfortable and clean house with lots of room for a group. It is not fancy or modern but has a classic and welcoming ambiance. A great place in Sayulita! Our family had a wonderful time and we highly recommend this property.

Beautiful home, wonderful location
We really enjoyed our stay in Sayulita and your beautiful home. Beach walks, surfing, massages by Marcello, and the incredible cooking by Delia were all fantastic. We enjoyed the style of your house and of course the great location and landscape. It was quite crowded starting Thursday, but, as you know being up the beach at your place really helped save us from much of the crowd. Thanks so much. Kind regards, Jim and Nancy

Although we have traveled all over the world to places like Bali, Hawaii, Guatemala, Europe, El Salvador, Canada, both coasts of the USA and many places in Mexico, we didn't get to Sayulita until 2000. It was the perfect little fishing village that we had been looking for, where the food is good, the local people are friendly, it's a quick easy flight from the USA, and it was the prettiest curve of beach we had ever seen. By 2001 we went back to buy a vacation home and found this perfect house right on the beach. My wife Sharon loved the classic hacienda style of the house and all the elegant antiques that came with it. My daughter Heather loved the fact that it was right on a soft sand beach where she could swim and play, and I loved that I could see two fabulous surf breaks that I could stroll down the beach to surf, within sight of the house. Less than a year after we purchased it, we loved it so much that we decided to live there full time, which we did for a year and a half to seize the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture, learn Spanish, and really get to enjoy this fabulous spot. We now live in Santa Barbara and visit the warm tropical waters of Sayulita as often as we can, but since we can't be there year round, we like being able to share it's pleasures with others.
