Casa Aguila in Sayulita is a true Beachfront vacation rental that is steps from the sand, on the quieter north side of Sayulita, yet within walking distance to all the activities, restaurants and shops in the village. With 4 bedrooms, 5 if you cound the living room with its enormous adjoining bath, can be made up with a king or two individual beds. Casa Aguila accommodates up to 14 guests.
The tranquil location of Casa Aguila is set among a coconut palm grove at the edge of the sandy north beach. The traditional styling of this private and peaceful Mexican villa boasts a spacious shaded terrace with unobstructed views of the azure Pacific Ocean. The beach is accessed via a few private stone steps. The housekeeper is included at no additional charge five days per week, and there is the option for a private cook to prepare your meals upon request for a nominal fee.
Casa Aguila consists of a main house with 2 master ensuite bedrooms, a living room (which can be configured as a 5th bedroom), a dining room and a large fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The main house is all on one level which makes it great for those with mobility issues. Th separate casita is just across the small courtyard. The guest house consists of 2 individual and separate bedrooms with ensuite baths. This is the perfect vacation home for an uncomplicated beachside vacation with plenty of room for a large family or group of friends up to 14.
Master Bedroom Number One features a king-sized bed with a beautiful hand carved cantera stone headboard, furniture and statuary of Angels and other winged beings. It has A/C, a ceiling fan, an exceptionally comfortable permanent king size bed with memory foam mattress and a fabulous view of the ocean including the surf break. Adjacent is it's spacious private bathroom which includes a washing machine and walk in tile shower.
Master Bedroom Number Two is even larger than Master #1. It has its own private entrance that opens to the terrace, where you can lounge in the chaises provided and Master #2 also has a door that can be opened to adjoin it to Master #1 if desired. Master #2 has it's own private bathroom with shower. The bedroom is spacious enough to easily accommodate a king sized bed and two other single beds. It can alternately be made up with 4 individual beds and there is plenty of room for a 5th single bed when requested. There is A/C, a ceiling fan, and this light and airy bedroom has magnificent ocean views.
The Hideaway Bedroom has a separate entrance from the main house, at the foot of the outside staircase and it normally comes set up with a king size bed, which can be split into two single beds upon request. It also has a toilet in an alcove of the room behind a shell curtain and a hot water sink “ensuite.” This bedroom enjoys a private outdoor shower. Its window provides a view of the ocean, shaded by mature tropical trees. Because of its location, the Hideaway Bedroom is ideal for teenagers or others seeking privacy. It has A/C and a ceiling fan.
The Eagles Nest Bedroom is upstairs, and was originally designed as an artists’ studio by the owners. It is accessed by an outdoor stairway accented with hand painted Mexican tiles. The Eagles Nest has unparalleled views of the ocean and jungle as it is the only bedroom which has windows facing in all 4 directions. This spacious, light filled, room comes furnished with a king sized bed to provide a very romantic and very private nest with a sweeping view of the beach and jungle below. The room is ample enough that, as an alternative, it can easily accommodate a king and 2 single beds or 4 single beds if arrangements are made in advance. This art studio/bedroom now contains its own contemporaty bathroom, with toilet, shower, glass vessel sink and granite countertop. The Eagle's Nest has A/C and a ceiling fan.
Bedroom Number 5 (the living room) The spacious living room is a mirror image of Master Bedroom #1, and it too has an enormous adjoining bathroom, which has a large walk in shower, and another washer and two dryers for guest use. As a 5th Bedroom, it can be made up either with individual beds or a king bed, if specifically requested. Unlike the 4 other bedrooms the living room does not have air conditioning other than the sea breeze gently flowing though it. Fortunately air conditioning is rarely needed during the high season months in any of the bedrooms. Guests generally use the broad shaded veranda as their living room and dining room, because the tropical weather is usually so inviting that everyone wants to spend as much time outdoors as possible with the beach and beautiful ocean spread out before them only steps away.

Once we acknowledge receipt of your rent to exclusively hold your reservation for certain dates, we publish those dates as no longer available on the online calendar linked to our webpage and we turn away other people who are interested in renting those same dates. If you find that you need to cancel for any reason, we are happy to refund your rental fees, but only to the degree that we are able rent the same reserved dates for the same dollar amount. Obviously, the earlier that you cancel, the more likely that we or you will be able to find people who would be able to rent those same dates for the same amount. Because of the international travel involved, a last-minute cancellation may be very difficult to fill for the same rate.
Although we have traveled all over the world to places like Bali, Hawaii, Guatemala, Europe, El Salvador, Canada, both coasts of the USA and many places in Mexico, we didn't get to Sayulita until 2000. It was the perfect little fishing village that we had been looking for, where the food is good, the local people are friendly, it's a quick easy flight from the USA, and it was the prettiest curve of beach we had ever seen. By 2001 we went back to buy a vacation home and found this perfect house right on the beach. My wife Sharon loved the classic hacienda style of the house and all the elegant antiques that came with it. My daughter Heather loved the fact that it was right on a soft sand beach where she could swim and play, and I loved that I could see two fabulous surf breaks that I could stroll down the beach to surf, within sight of the house. Less than a year after we purchased it, we loved it so much that we decided to live there full time, which we did for a year and a half to seize the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture, learn Spanish, and really get to enjoy this fabulous spot. We now live in Santa Barbara and visit the warm tropical waters of Sayulita as often as we can, but since we can't be there year round, we like being able to share it's pleasures with others.
