Description

Casa Aguila in Sayulita is a true Beachfront vacation rental that is steps from the sand, on the upscale and more peaceful  north side of Sayulita, yet within walking distance to all the activities, restaurants and shops in the village. Enjoy ocean views from nearly every room in the house, and open the doors and windows to enjoy the ocean breeze and sounds of the waves crashing just outside your door. With 4 bedrooms, 5 if you count the living room with its enormous adjoining bath, can be made up with a king or two individual beds. Casa Aguila accommodates up to 14 guests.

The tranquil location of Casa Aguila is set among a coconut palm grove at the edge of the sandy north beach. The traditional styling of this private and peaceful Mexican villa boasts a spacious shaded terrace with unobstructed views of the azure Pacific Ocean. The beach is accessed via merely a few private stone steps. The housekeeper is included at no additional charge five days per week, and for a nominal fee, there is the option for a private cook to prepare your meals upon request.

Like most of the higher quality vacation rentals in Sayulita, during the 5 months of High Season, between Christmas Week and Easter Week, we too require 7 night, Saturday to Saturday bookings.  The rest of the year we are more flexible about arrival and departure days, and discount our rental rates when not High Season.

Casa Aguila consists of a main house with 2 master ensuite bedrooms, PLUS a living room (which can be configured as a 5th bedroom which has it's own adjoining large private bathroom with shower), a dining room and a large fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances. The main house is all on one level which makes it great for those with mobility issues. The separate casita is conveniently only 10 feet away, across the small courtyard.

The guest house/casita consists of 2 individual and separate bedrooms with ensuite baths. This is the perfect vacation home for an uncomplicated beachside vacation with plenty of room for large families or group of friends up to 14.  For your privacy, you will not have to share the entire property with anyone that is not in your chosen group.

Master Bedroom Number One features a king-sized bed with a beautiful, hand carved Cantera stone headboard, carved furniture and statuary of Angels and other winged beings. It has A/C, a ceiling fan, an exceptionally comfortable permanent king size bed with memory foam mattress and a fabulous view of the ocean including the surf break.  Adjacent is its spacious private bathroom which includes a washing machine and walk in tile shower.

Master Bedroom Number Two is even larger than Master #1. It has its own private entrance that opens to the terrace, where you can lounge in the chaises provided and Master #2  also has a door that can be opened to adjoin it to Master #1 if desired.  Master #2 has its own private bathroom with shower.  The bedroom is spacious enough to easily accommodate a king sized bed and two other single beds. It can alternately be made up with 4 individual beds and there is plenty of room for a 5th single bed when requested.  There is A/C, a ceiling fan, and this light and airy bedroom has magnificent ocean views.

The Hideaway Bedroom has a separate entrance from the main house, at the foot of the outside staircase and it normally comes set up with a king size bed, which can be split into two single beds upon request. It also has a toilet in an alcove of the room behind a shell curtain and a hot water sink “ensuite.” This bedroom enjoys a private outdoor shower. Its window provides a view of the ocean, shaded by mature tropical trees. Because of its location, the Hideaway Bedroom is ideal for teenagers or others seeking privacy. It has A/C and a ceiling fan.

The Eagles Nest Bedroom is upstairs, and was originally designed as an artists’ studio by the owners. It is accessed by an outdoor stairway accented with hand painted Mexican tiles. The Eagles Nest has unparalleled views of the ocean and jungle as it is the only bedroom which has windows facing in all 4 directions. This spacious, light filled, room comes furnished with a king sized bed to provide a very romantic and very private nest with a sweeping view of the beach and jungle below. The room is ample enough that, as an alternative, it can easily accommodate a king and 2 single beds or 4 single beds if arrangements are made in advance. This art studio/bedroom now contains its own contemporary bathroom, with toilet, shower, glass vessel sink and granite countertop. The Eagle's Nest has A/C and a ceiling fan.

Bedroom Number 5 (the living room) The spacious living room is a mirror image of Master Bedroom #1, and it too has an enormous adjoining bathroom, which has a large walk in shower, and another washer and two dryers for guest use. As a 5th Bedroom, it can be made up either with individual beds or a king bed, if specifically requested. Unlike the 4 other bedrooms the living room does not have air conditioning other than the sea breeze gently flowing through it. Fortunately air conditioning is rarely needed during the high season months in any of the bedrooms. Guests generally use the broad shaded veranda as their living room and dining room, because the tropical weather is usually so inviting that everyone wants to spend as much time outdoors as possible with the beach and beautiful ocean spread out before them only steps away.

Please utilize the contact form to get in touch with any questions, and to request a reservation.

Please note all Events (including Weddings) must be approved in advance and usually have a separate Event Fee in addition to the normal weekly rental price if there will be more than 14 people on the property on any one day.

We accommodate beautiful beachfront weddings or other events for more than 14 people total being on the property (including Minister, caterers, musicians, wedding coordinator and her assistants, photographer, make-up artist, hair dresser, videographer, D.J., bride and groom and all guests and relatives and any other people on the property. In addition to a week rental, there is a separate event fee, that depends on the number of people and the number and type of events that will be held during the week, but it all must be discussed ahead of time.

Once we acknowledge receipt of your rent to exclusively hold your reservation for certain dates, we publish those dates as no longer available on the online calendar linked to our webpage and we turn away other people who are interested in renting those same dates. If you find that you need to cancel for any reason, we are happy to refund your rental fees, but only to the degree that we are able rent the same reserved dates for the same dollar amount.  Obviously, the earlier that you cancel, the more likely that we or you will be able to find people who would be able to rent those same dates for the same amount.  Because of the international travel involved, a last-minute cancellation may be very difficult to fill for the same rate.

Among the best of rentals in Sayulita
We loved this house and it's location. Our group included a married couple and four related but single individuals. The five of us occupied four bedrooms, of which three bedrooms had oceanfront views. We each had plenty of space to congregate but to also go to rooms or patio areas for individual peace and quiet. The casa was clean and was regularly maintained by a very efficient house manager and a gardener. As an extra but very affordable service, the house manager also prepared for us a tremendous dinner that included our choices of appetizers, entrees and desserts.

Several of us had rented in various parts of the Sayulita community on eight previous trips, including some similarly nice casas in the same north-beach neighborhood. One of our group has visited Sayulita for 1- or 2-week visits on about 30 previous occasions, including some rentals near Casa Aguila and some located high above the south shore. We all agreed, "Yours is among the best!".

It was dreamy!
The location was exactly what we were hoping to have. It was close enough to town that it was only a short walk away but far enough that it was not in the center of beach activity. The pictures of the view do not do it justice. Richard was personable and attentive. There were a few small issues that were handled quickly and efficiently.

We have stayed in many different places in this area and this was a favorite.

Beautiful Home
This home is a perfect get away, quiet neighborhood. Plenty of space for social distancing. The owner was so wonderful to work with (especially in middle of covid pandemic). Sayulita is a very friendly area. I can only hope to return to Sayulita soon.

Perfect home on beach!
We just had a medical conference with physicians and nurses and booked this beautiful home, it was perfect. The view is amazing, plenty of space, clean and well kept. It was so easy to get around town. The people of Sayulita were so kind. We would have conference in morning looking at ocean and then explore the city. The owner was so kind and responsive with any questions or requests. The home is in a perfect location peaceful with incredible views. I hope we will be able to return. I am hoping to bring my family here for a vacation, it’s perfect.

Great vacation!
Just a note of appreciation for allowing our group of family and friends to enjoy a wonderful week at your beautiful Casa Aguila. If there is a nicer place in Sayulita, we never saw it.

The location is absolutely perfect. Far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the beaches closer to town to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the sun, sand and surf we were looking for, yet close enough to be able to easily enjoy all of the wonderful dining and exploring experiences Sayulita has to offer.

You and your family are so fortunate to have discovered what we all regarded as the perfect location. Our experience was seamless from beginning to end. The house itself is so spacious and inviting. We were just able to relax and enjoy each other’s company for a wonderful vacation.

Special thanks to Delia who could not have been nicer. She handily took care of anything which required attention. The few meals she prepared were delicious. Your instructions were voluminous, but were also spot on and much appreciated.

It is nice to be back again in Santa Barbara, but we will always fondly share together the memories of our special time at Casa Aguila. In a word, gracias!

Perfect Bridal Residence
We booked Casa Aguila to house our Groomsmen and their partners in early May this year. It was the perfect venue for our bridal party to stay. It is very spacious and the fittings go perfectly with the rustic feel. Our friends and family all got nice villas for the week but Casa Aguila was most people's favourite.

Delia the housemaid comes almost every day and does a great job. The house is kept very clean.

We came just after the new sewage plant came into operation and no-one in our party of 80+ was sick, and honestly we were not careful at all.

Thanks for having us Richard, hopefully we will be back again soon.

Casa Aguila is fabulous!
My wife and I just stayed five days at Casa Aguila. The house is HUGE and beautifully appointed. Lots of local art, furniture fixtures, just beautiful. The setting is amazing. Right on the beach. We spent most of our time sitting in the covered veranda with gentle breezes flowing through. The house has a huge kitchen with all the pots and utensils you will ever need. Numerous nice bathrooms, large windows that let in lots of light. The owner is very engaged and wants your stay to be special.

perfect choice
When we were advised that our daughter was going to get married in Sayulita, I began my search of beach houses. I selected Casa Aguila, and I'm glad I did !!!...excellent house, beach views, and close to the city either walking or better yet, walk the beach. Also, we felt save and had "zero" outside noise/interruptions.

Sink into the good life
Sayulita took us by surprise. We knew we were going to be close to town, in terms of distance but we were not expecting to slowly let ourselves be totally seduced. The house has a personal and authentic charm, easy to hang out on the porch and read, or enjoy the view of the waves. This town is as easy going as it gets, friendly and makes you want to stay longer.. We surfed, paddle boarded and swam in the warm waters without any currents or worries, it was the best way to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Amazing beach trip and house
The pictures of the house, Casa Aguila, on line is what caught my eye to book this beachfront home for our family vacation... Once we arrived the views and property were even MORE breath taking and our family thoroughly enjoyed this home & location.. We are an active beach/surf family and this place did not disappoint; steps from the beach, a simple walk into town and plenty of breath taking views right from the front veranda... Our time was literally split between on the beach, on the front veranda and a little time inside to sleep and cook, but even then all had views of the ocean.... It was SO relaxing and an enjoyable week, we will definitely be back!!!

Its the perfect vacation house for the true beach/ocean lover. The food in town was awesome, local fresh fish, pleasant local people and loads of beach to explore both ways, north or south.. We paddle boarded daily, surfed and just played in the ocean constantly.. Once we had had enough sun it was only a few steps up to the shaded veranda where you still didn't have to miss out on the views or sounds of the ocean.. Summed up, it was paradise for us!! :)

Bio Please mention SayulitaLife
Although we have traveled all over the world to places like Bali, Hawaii, Guatemala, Europe, El Salvador, Canada, both coasts of the USA and many places in Mexico, we didn't get to Sayulita until 2000. It was the perfect little fishing village that we had been looking for, where the food is good, the local people are friendly, it's a quick easy flight from the USA, and it was the prettiest curve of beach we had ever seen. By 2001 we went back to buy a vacation home and found this perfect house right on the beach. My wife Sharon loved the classic hacienda style of the house and all the elegant antiques that came with it. My daughter Heather loved the fact that it was right on a soft sand beach where she could swim and play, and I loved that I could see two fabulous surf breaks that I could stroll down the beach to surf, within sight of the house. Less than a year after we purchased it, we loved it so much that we decided to live there full time, which we did for a year and a half to seize the opportunity to immerse ourselves in the culture, learn Spanish, and really get to enjoy this fabulous spot. We now live in Santa Barbara and visit the warm tropical waters of Sayulita as often as we can, but since we can't be there year round, we like being able to share it's pleasures with others.
