After over two years of remodel, we are pleased to have Casa Ava available for rent starting in December 2017.  Welcome to Casa Ava, an enchanting and comfortable vacation spot in Sayulita, Mexico. The house has been architecturally designed to maximize this southern Sayulita location offering privacy, sun, shade, breezes, and spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean and the Northern coastline.  The house is comprised of one large master suite at street level that has a king size bed and couch that can be made into a single bed with large master bath attached.  The second suite is at pool level with a king size bed, couch that can be made into a single bed, master bath, and private deck that can also access the pool.  Both rooms are equipped with air conditioning if you need it, though most of the year the ocean breezes are all you want. An outdoor shower and additional bathroom are close to the pool for your convenience.  Each bedroom has a safe for your valuables.

The kitchen is fully stocked and the outdoor bar area with mini fridge make this a place you want to hang out and entertain (or hire a cook and sit back an relax!). The entire house has a water filtration system for purified water and ice.  A bar area with four stools is a great place to enjoy a beverage while chatting with the cook in the kitchen.  An eight person dining table and large built in couches outside on the veranda are covered with lighting and fans but open for breezes complete with an ocean/jungle view.   The bar and sitting area is conveniently located next to pool that was built around three palm trees.  There is also a jacuzzi that can be heated via a timer.   There is maid service two times per week with all linens and towels included.

A speaker bar and tv is located in the indoor sitting area. Internet is available or enjoy a library of books available for lazy days reading.

Casa Ava is located on the southern end of Sayulita about a 10-minute walk from the village plaza and main surfing beach. Guests also enjoy a 10-minute stroll through virgin jungle to the less active Playa Los Muertos offering a family swimming environment. A rental car or golf cart is not necessary but recommended if you plan to be making frequent trips to town center or carrying a lot of food, beer, etc.

The house is perfect for two couples looking to enjoy a Sayulita Mexico experience in a private tranquil location.  The house very comfortably sleeps 4 and 2 additional people can be accommodated on the built in couches in each room.

The owner lives a majority of the time in the upstairs apartment.  You have complete privacy in the main house with piece of mind that if anything needs attention or you are looking for a good recommendation for dinner, we are readily available.  The upstairs apartment has a separate entrance and there is no shared access.

Beautiful home !
We stayed here for a week over the New Year Holiday and has a wonderful experience.
The home is beautiful and the view is even better. The home is well stocked with anything that you could need. Basically just bring your suitcase and you are all set.
Comfy beds, clean bathrooms with plenty of linens, fully stocked kitchen appliances/dishes.
We spent most of our time in the outdoor living area with our children.
It is a short walk to town and the beach. A cart would be needed for anyone that can not navigate hills.
We will definitely stay at Casa Ava again when we visit Sayulita!!

Even more beautiful than expected
Casa Ava was even better than expected.
The photos looked wonderful but we found it even more so in person. The bedrooms were more spacious and the views beautiful. The photos didn't give you a chance to appreciate the great artwork.
The wifi was excellent and we were pleased to see an apple tv so we could just log in with our account. We stay at rentals throughout the States and Europe and this is the best equipped that we've seen. Anything that you could possibly need has been provided in the kitchen.
We found the 10min walk into town/ beaches shorter and that was with two children. We didn't mind the last part of the walk uphill so didn't rent a golf cart. As we were there over Christmas week, it would have been more of a pain trying to park it but they did look like fun. The location was great because you were so close but in such a peaceful area. We all loved the lovely Cafe YahYah which was very close.
All in all, a fantastic place to stay in Sayulita.

Amazing Home, Lovely Owners
Casa Ava provided an amazing homebase for our family trip to Sayulita! Close enough to town, and very close to Playa de Muertos, but far enough removed that the noise of the nightlife was not an issue at all. John and Amy, the owners, were lovely and provided recommendations on restaurants and things to do while we were in town (especially nice, as we were first-time Sayulita visitors!). Their golf cart, which is available to rent, was fantastic to have with our two children, as we could go to town and the beach without worrying about tired little legs. That said, it is an easy walk to both town and to one of the best beaches for kids. The home itself is tranquil, with a lovely pool and great bedrooms that have been newly renovated. I loved the open-air quality of the home, which also allowed closing separate areas off in the evenings or when we were away. I would definitely go back!

Simply put "Best Casa in Sayulita"
This casa is simply amazing. 10 min walk to the plaza yet when at the house you have the very relaxing atmosphere of birds and ocean. The house has all top of the line amenities, a very beautiful and spacious outdoor area, jacuzzi, pool, 3 showers, amazingly comfortable beds, fabulous kitchen, personal safes in each bedroom, Its very hard to leave the house when your there, its just so comfortable, to sit on the outdoor couch in the early morning with a coffee listening to the birds and the ocean was truly what the doctor ordered. this house has a very strong wifi signal also. The owners John and Amy are truly fabulous hosts and are always ready to help with any need that may arise, simply put its the best place you could ever choose to stay when visiting Sayulita. I will definitely be staying here next year when I return, I would actually change my travel dates if I had to so I could make sure this casa was available for me to rent.

The Crown Jewel of Sayulita
This was our fourth trip to Sayulita in the last 11 years, and Casa Ava is now our new #1 spot for privacy, solitude, quiet, view, cool & friendly owners, jungle life, amenities and just general relaxability. Our previous trips have been with large posses, so our accommodations had different requirements. This time it was just three of us. We enjoyed the 10 minute hike to plaza/beach, not just because of the aerobic exercise but because the neighborhood on Los Ninos Heroes is home to the locals, the abuelas in their hamacas and los hijos at play. This time we discovered Rosie's mole chicken enchiladas, which I would have eaten every day had there not been Cafe Sayulita's amazing mole chicken right next door. We rented chaises from the Panda at the surf shop across from Don Pedro's, had fish tacos every day for lunch, bartered with the Huichol kids selling animalitas on the beach, and just generally grooved for a week. I'll keep going back to Casa Ava until I can no longer hike the last 500 feet of cobblestones, at which time I hope to be able to afford to rent their golf cart. Highly recommended for two or two + kid (ours is 22). A sweet hang and wonderful hosts.

Amazing home. Lovely hosts. Idyllic spot for 2 - 3 people.
We were three ladies looking for a quiet, but close-to-town rental with a full kitchen. Casa Ava fit all of our check boxes, and so much more. Secure, quiet, high-speed wifi, charming space to lounge! Open-air kitchen and living areas were heaven. We found that it was just far enough from town to be private/quiet, and close enough that the 10 minute walk to the bustling Centro was enjoyable (short hill). No need for a car, but they have a golf cart for rent - nice option. Best part about this place were the hosts. So friendly, helpful and accommodating. There when you need them. I'll stay there again in a heartbeat.

Finally a quiet place in Sayulita
We have stayed everywhere in Sayulita. North end, Gringo Hill down by the water. Finally found the Casa and location I would go back to again and again. Beautiful Casa, updated and modern (everything works!), ocean view and view of the surf break and it is quiet! Usually we can't sleep in Sayulita. Casa Ava is super quiet and away from it. The two bedrooms are on different levels which increased our privacy and peace. Very close to town and all of the activity. Slight hill at the end to get up to the breeze and view. John and Amy were great and rented us a golf cart. What a great way to get around town. We felt like locals. Amy is an excellent surfer and great at interpreting the surf forecast. She always had a great pick for a surf break. Can't wait to go back.

This place is AMAZING!!!!
Look no further - you just found one of the best places in Sayulita.
I have stayed in 3 other homes prior to this one and it is my favorite. The home owners are also very cool and having a local is very handy when there you have a question.

This house had everything I was looking for:
A/C rooms
A view (Jungle and Ocean)
Golf Cart
Close to Town

I cannot say enough great things about this place. You've found a gem. Book it quickly!

Amy & John first came to Sayulita in 1997 on a day trip from Puerto Vallarta. They fell in love with the place and returned yearly until Casa Ava was built in 2005. With a 6 week old in tow, they furnished the new house and started coming down for 2-3 months per year until 2012, when they moved to Sayulita full time. John & Amy work on line from the awesome internet that is now available in town through Sayulita Wifi. Ava attends Costa Verde International School.
