Penthouse Paradise
Nestled in the heart of Sayulita, Casa de Ensueno became our cozy refuge for a perfect winter getaway. My wife and I, seasoned Sayulita explorers with 6 years under our belts, were immediately taken by the Penthouse's charm. It effortlessly offered both togetherness and privacy, with the spacious kitchen and common areas providing ample room to sprawl out and unwind. The highlight, however, was the sprawling deck – its ocean views stole the show, easily placing it as one of the best in town. Every detail was pristine, from the well-equipped kitchen (a joy for home-cooked meals) to the sparkling pool, just waiting to cool us down after sunny beach days. Kathy's seamless coordination made the booking a breeze, and Jose and Bella, the friendly on-site caretakers, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Having tried most casitas at Casa de Ensueno, we confidently declare it one of Sayulita's gems – a true home away from home.

A lovely stay
We stayed at Casa de Ensueno for the month of January, 2022, and we were so satisfied that we are in the process of reserving the same suite for January 2023

The suite was roomy, well equipped, clean and well supplied. Jose maintained the gardens and pool very well and Bella maintained the room well.

The patio is completely private, and has a nice jungle and town view, but not quite high enough to see the ocean, which was not a concern. The beach was only 10 minutes away, and we walked 3 miles on the beach every day.

The location is fairly high on a hill, on a cul-de-sac, so there was very little traffic other than deliveries and tradesmen.

There was very little sound at night from the restaurants, although one club on the very top of the hill above us had a musical event one evening which stopped at 11 pm.

Free high-speed internet enabled us to stream movies very easily, and was fast enough to do Zoom calls, which we did daily.

We highly recommend Casa de Ensueno and the town of Sayulita with its many restaurants, live music and nice long beach.

Perfect place to call home while staying Sayulita
My wife and I brought our three daughters with us to enjoy a spring getaway in Sayulita, staying in the Penthouse at Casa de Ensueno. The space was perfect for our family. Our kids were comfortable sharing the second-floor bedroom, that easily slept all three, with one full bed, a twin bed, and a couch/day bed. The kitchen and common areas are spacious and gave everyone the ability to find their own spots to relax. We never felt cramped. The kitchen, common area, and master bedroom all open to an amazing deck with one of the best views on the south end of town! The property was clean, and the kitchen was well-stocked with everything we needed to make our stay more comfortable. We utilized the grill on the deck for a fantastic Sunday dinner with items purchased at the local carneceria and produce stands. The pool was the perfect place to chill out after walks into town or beach days... Kathy was easy to work with in arranging for our stay. And a special thank you to the property care-takers, Jose and Bella, who are so friendly and helpful... My wife and I have been coming to Sayulita for nearly 20 years. We actually stayed in casita 1 at Casa de Ensueno back in 2006 and have probably stayed in or visited nearly 20 properties all over town over the years. Our opinion is that Casa de Ensueno is one of the best properties in town and we may just have to call this property home for most of our future stays in Sayulita.

Great stay, wonderful location
This place has been beautiful. It’s quiet, just up the street from town and the beach, which is super convenient, but far enough to feel like a private home. There are some friendly neighbours who are nice to bump into once in a while, but it was nice to feel like I have my own space on this large property. It’s kept very clean and well stocked, and the pool has been the perfect cool plunge on hot days! Highly recommended, and I’m already booked to come back again!

Ideal place to unwind
Kim & Kathy were very responsive and considerate hosts. Their place is beautiful and nicely located between our favorite beach (Playa de los Muertos) and the center of town. Their housekeeper Jose is a man of few words but is diligent and accommodating. We needed a late check out as our flight wasn't leaving until 7pm and he was very cooperative. He gave us good directions the night we arrived and was available to us in case we needed anything which luckily we didn't. We would stay at your place again in a minute!

Casa de Ensueño is a gem!
The unit is amazing with sliding doors that open onto a huge patio, almost doubling the unit’s living area. It is nicely decorated with Mexican art and colors. The BBQ on our patio came in handy to cook the fresh fish purchased at the market. The location is perfect with a 7 minute walk to the centre of town and the main beach or a 15 minute walk to Playa Los Muertos a lovely and quieter beach for swimming.

Bella does a wonderful job keeping the unit clean and Jose ensures that the grounds always look amazing. They were both a pleasure to interact with. If our travels bring us back to Sayulita, we will definitely be staying at Casa de Ensueño.

Absolutely Beautiful!
This was our third trip to Sayulita and our favourite place we've stayed so far. We always stay in the south area of Sayulita and Casa De Ensueno was a perfect distance to the plaza and delicious restaurants in town. We enjoyed the quick walk into town and the quiet street where Casa De Ensueno was located. You can stop at Yah Yah for a dirty chai (yum) and a yummy breakfast or snack which is 5 min away. There is a locked gate with a passcode and we always felt safe.Sayulita has grown tremendously since our last visit a few years ago but the location of Casa De Ensueno remained quiet and private. The grounds were unbelievably beautiful with vibrant flowers and lush, mature greenery. The pool was a good size and not cold at all! It was a perfect temperature as we had blue skies and sun every day.We stayed in #5 and were So HAPPY with our choice. We had two private balconies. The top balcony had views of the ocean and surrounding areas. This was our favourite place to relax! We had so much privacy in #5 and it was very spacious and comfortable. It was like our very own private apartment! I could have stayed for weeks! But be prepared for very weak wifi unless you go down by the pool or front entrance. We did hear this from people staying in the other casitas too.Jose and Bella were so friendly and were always there when we had a question or needed anything. Kathy, the owner was SO quick to respond by email the months leading up to our trip and even gave us a personal phone call. During the trip, she responded within hours at the most, offered advice and was so generous to allow us to have a later check out when our flight didn't leave until later. We were incredibly appreciative of this! Communication when you are booking a trip is crucial and Kathy went over and above! We loved Casa De Ensueno!

Great location and a lovely place to relax!
We are a family of 3 so we needed a king bed or a bed with a couch option. Casita #1 had both. And the bed was comfy! We loved the balcony where we could read in the morning and listen to the birds, donkeys and roosters. However pretty quiet considering. The kitchen was perfect size for us. The shower was big and nice to have a hot shower after a full day of sand. The pool is perfect. It was really nice when we had to stay closer to the casita due to the Norovirus. We all got sick.. as one of us was down the others could head out or could hang by the pool. We also enjoyed meeting and visiting poolside with the other folks vacationing. We've stayed in other places in Sayulita but Casa de Ensueno was our favorite place! It was easy walking from the bus station with our backpacks but we're hikers. Easy walk to and from the the main square. It was really nice to have a quieter place and it is up on a hill so you can see out and just be above the dust and dirt a bit. The bread lady walked by most mornings "bolito" which took us a few days to figure out what it was she was selling. But once we did it was lovely to get fresh bread in the morning for 7 pesos. Toasted it and made avocado toast. Casa de Ensueno will not disappoint in its amenities and loveliness. Jose is the host and he provided us with an umbrella which is a must for going to the beach or you'll just get burned to a crisp. And boogie boards which was really nice! Be sure to bring or pick up 45+spf zinc stick to put on you face before you head out to surf or boogie board! I cruised all the surf shops and only found it in one but I thought it was pretty expensive "headhunters" and it was 450 pesos ($30 US) especially when you can find it state side for $14. It's easy to loose track of how long one has been in the water and the reflection off the water is so strong that the face and body will get burnt in a hot minute! Despite long sleeve swim shirts, sunscreen applications and the umbrella we still missed a prime time.. my son got this nose burnt and even got blisters as he was out boogie boarding and what he had must of washed off. That's when I went out to find the $30 zinc stick for the face! Next time I won't travel without one of those as well as charcoal tabs, pepto-dismal tabs and immodium as the Norovirus is no joke right now! You can't visit and not get it right now. This is a virus that just spreads easily and is very virulent and lives for days on dry surfaces. It's common in areas with crowds of folks (weddings, cruise ships, vacation spots) and I think it's just stuck in Sayulita right now. There wasn't one person we talked to that didn't get it. But luckily it strikes quickly and you recover quickly. 1-3 days. Stay hydrated! Sayulita is a lovely town and it has grown a lot since we first visited 10 years ago. If we visit again we'd for sure stay at Casa de Ensueno!
