New Immigration Office in Bucerias
By Lindsay Walter

Good news for all Sayulita and surrounding area foreign residents who need to either renew or apply for an FM3. Now opened as of mid July is the new Immigration office in Bucerias. The office is located at #17 Ave Las Palmas, next to the new internet café called airdoggiecito. From the main 200 highway, turn down the street leading to the Decameron Resort and find the new immigration office on your right hand side. The office is opened from 10am-2pm Jalisco time, or 9am to 1pm Nayarit time, Monday to Friday.

The new immigration office will stock all necessary application forms to obtain an FM3 as well as other paperwork for all other immigration issues. The new office is for all of those with Nayarit addresses only.

A few years ago, Migracion opened an office in Bucerias, however it was closed down shortly after and moved back to Tepic. Rocio Martinez, an immigration agent at the new office in Bucerias confirms that they have now made this office a permanent location for immigration services. There will always be 2-3 agents on hand to assist customers and there are various English-speaking agents to help foreigners. Local residents have already described the new immigration office as a "breeze" with "friendly service".

By Colin Barnett

Sayulita's "Jaibos" baseball team were supposed to play their regional semi-finals games 5 & 6 at their opponent's, Higuerra Blanca, field, but owing to the poor state of the field due to construction, the games were played at Sayulita.

Sayulita comfortably won the opening game but their pitching came apart midway through the second game and Higuera went on to win 4 - 0 and tie the series at three apiece. This means we have an all important deciding seventh game this Sunday, again in Sayulita, with the winner going onto this seasons final. The other semi final between Lo De Marcos and La Cruz de Huanacsxtle is also as yet undecided.

So come on down to the sports field this Sunday (8/10), drink a beer or three, enjoy some home cooking courtesy of the town's ladies, and cheer on our local heroes
