Perfection!
Nicoya is amazing- beautiful authentic Mexican charm with modern additions. Sparkling clean, spacious and great location. The owner (Lisa) and the host (Zoey) were incredible. They were helpful and communicative. The location is perfect: just up the block from the town square, but without the nightlife noises. The views were spectacular. You can see the ocean from the top floor. After booking, they sent us a long list of extensive, helpful information on everything from things to do, local medical info, local customs, etc. They provide drinking water coolers in the home as well. So thoughtful. There are secret stairs as a shortcut to town, or rent a golf cart to get around. We would love to come back and rent this house again! Do bring earplugs for possible rooster and donkey noises as night.

So much more than expected
Casa Nicoya was beautiful, welcoming, and very well located. Both Lisa, the owner, and Zoe, the house manager were great communicators and super helpful before and throughout our stay. The house is beautifully designed and was the perfect place to hang out with friends. The bedrooms were private but the community areas were comfortable and fun to hang out in. The pool gets great sun most of the day and has nice shaded mini palapa for those that don’t want the sun exposure. And the view from the pool and the upstairs bedrooms was incredible! Perfect for the sunsets. In terms of location, a (long) set of stairs right down the street lead right to the plaza so it is one of the more accessible homes on Gringo Hill. This house was above and beyond what we expected and made our trip a great experience. We’d come back any time!

Absolutely perfect
Words can't begin to describe how great Casa Nicoya is. First of all Lisa is amazing. She is incredibly responsive and offered us a ton of suggestions and recommendations from dining, to activities, to where to find the best wine. Every interaction with Lisa was a pleasure. Zoey, the property manager is also incredible. She made herself available to answer any questions we had and was super friendly and helpful. The house itself is exquisite, seriously have never been in a more gorgeous space. It was almost too nice to want to leave - we could have spent the entire week in the house and been content! For those of you who do want to venture out, the location is totally walkable to the downtown area and beaches. We rented a car and didn't use it it once! The kitchens are fully stocked, the beds are super comfortable, there's tons of fresh drinking water, and the views are outstanding - there's nothing bad to say about this place. We will definitely be back!

Already planning our next stay here!
Words cannot express the magical feeling we had walking into Casa Nicoya for the first time. The evening sun cast a heavenly glow throughout the open air main level and we were transported into one of our best vacations ever! Leaving was so incredibly hard, because we really loved Casa Nicoya! The pictures (which are great) do not entirely capture the essence or the true feel of the space. We spent four nights, but it wasn’t nearly enough. We can’t wait to go back! Thanks to Zoey for being a great property manager and for answering all of my questions!! We are looking forward to our next visit!!!

Fresh, well appointed with an amazing pool area
House is fresh, clean, well appointed and comfortable. Pool and cabana are beautiful and made us feel like we were at a private hotel. House has so many places to hang out and enjoy the beautiful scenery from the top of Gringo Hill. Morning coffee on one level, margaritas on another. We all had our favorite place to grab a nap after a day surfing. Each bedroom has its own bath and a ceiling fan to keep the air moving.
Owner and on-site manager Zoey were responsive and eager to please. They were quick to answer any and all questions (no matter how silly my questions were). We would definitely rent this home again.

Very beautiful, very clean home. Had a wonderful stay
Thanks, Lisa, for receiving us in your beautiful home! Besides the beauty of it and the cleanliness, we really appreciated enjoyed all the thoughtful details that were waiting for us, like the nice and useful bags for the beach and the mosquitos repellent, as well as all the other basics provided. Zoey's attention was also great. She was very kind and came as soon as we arrived to Casa Nicoya to receive us. We felt like everything was taken care of. We followed your rules and hope you find everything in order from our side. Thanks again and have a joyful year!

Casa Nicoya is truly everything we expected AND so much more!
The casa has been so thoughtfully put together to make your stay effortless. Small touches like extra hats, beach bags, sunscreen, and games/books really make the experience. The space is so calming and tranquil, with all the open views and lounge spaces you can really relax. It is only a 3 minute walk from town but you also feel removed from the noise and tucked away in the trees. It's a perfect location! The entire process of communication was amazing, every question answered and extra details provided. You are in great hands with Lisa and Zoey. Really this is the spot, you've found the one. Book it!

Memorable vacation!
I was super excited to sleep in the open air room but due to the neighboring donkey (who turned out to be the butt of many family jokes) and mosquitos (summer is the rainy season, so there are mosquitos), I had to retreat downstairs to an AC room. Mosquitos seem to have a special interest in me and I am also a very light sleeper, so others may not suffer as much. We loved the layout of the house, the roominess, the views, the outside/inside feel, having two kitchens, the pool, and I was especially pleased with the decor and overall minimalism. (Our next vacation rental was very cluttered with stuff everywhere, and I appreciated that Lisa’s place was not.) On our last couple of days we found a very near to the house shortcut of stairs that directly led to the downtown plaza. Ideal location to being downtown yet still removed. Be prepared for a short hike up the hill.

Perfect location, enjoyed our stay!
Our group had a wonderful stay at Casa Nicoya, Lisa and Zoey were great hosts! They were very responsive with every question and need. We took full advantage of all the great recommendations they provided. The house has it all -great pool, view, and decor. We also loved how quick and easy it was to get downtown and to the beach. I would definitely recommend Casa Nicoya for your next trip to Sayulita!

Incredible location for a Day photo shoot
We recently rented Casa Nicoya for a boudoir photo shoot for 4 friends for a day.

This house is just perfect. There were enough different spaces and well thought out areas, so that all 4 of us could have completely different stunning “backdrops”.

I would highly recommend renting this beautiful casa for a day shoot and I’m looking forward to coming back and staying at some time in the future for a week or so.

***the photo is of the 4 of us and our amazing makeup and hair stylist @jennchiversfreelance and our incredible boudoir photographer @dekkerphotographysf

Both of these artists come highly recommended also

In 2013, my husband (Eric) and I quit our fast paced Bay Area tech jobs to backpack around the world for a year. And after a year of exploring, we just. couldn't. stop. One year turned into four as we have transitioned into our dream life of working remotely while traveling the world. We now split our time between Sayulita, Lisbon, San Francisco/Tahoe and "somewhere new and exciting". We are always eager to explore new cultures, learn a new language, and make new interesting friends. Extra passport pages are evidence I am living the life I want to live. We are grateful to have traveled to many fabulous places in the world, and found ourselves looking forward every year to our stint in Sayulita. So we decided to plant some roots, and bought a home in Sayulita that allows us to live here in the Casita a few months a year while renting the main house to fellow travelers like you! We welcome you to our dream home in this magical Pueblo and look forward to sharing it with you!
