RVO studio in Sayulita, utilizing the most antique and innovative techniques of construction and design, working in between tradition and modernity.

Raul has studied and worked with this world-famous building style with architects from Mexico city who have added a modern twist to a tried and true old-world design.

Raul uses a variety of salvaged materials including stone façades taken from old colonial houses that are no longer in use to add a historic feel to the projects he designs. Gigantic wood beams and doors can be acquired to match this same style. These antique building materials and the unique architectural design, combined with modern techniques, will provide an incredible and comfortable house showcasing a masterpiece of art, design and functionality.

Raul offers complete architectural design, plans, and execution of the entire project from its very beginning to the finished product. His team is carefully selected from different parts of Mexico to achieve a unique handcrafted and carefully-designed house. Included in this team are custom antique furniture finders who will work hard to locate the most beautiful pieces for your new villa in Sayulita Mexico.

TALENTED ARCHITECT, GOOD COMMUNICATOR, ON TIME, ON BUDGET, FANTASTIC CREW

We had a great experience with Raul Velazquez and his entire team. Raul designs, builds, oversees the construction, and manages the accounting with his team. He built our vacation home, Villa Yerbabuena in Sayulita, and succeeded beyond our expectations. When we met Raul, we immediately had a connection. In Raul we found talent, ideas, capability but also someone we could relate to and trust, a friend.
We had already built a home in Sayulita with another architect and builder. Villa Yerbabuena was going to be a much bigger project and we were prepared for much bigger challenges. But, not with Raul! The design took its time because we had specific features in mind that needed to be worked out but the whole process was smooth, we stayed on budget, within our time-frame, the communication was exceptional; Raul kept us up-to-date with e-mails, Skype, photographs, the accounting was flawless (I am a CFO). Any problems were addressed swiftly.
We love our home, a combination of modern design with traditional materials and details such as wooden beams, cantera stones, and a brick vaulted ceiling over our indoor stairwell.
We highly recommend Raul and his entire team and would hire him again without hesitation for any future building project.

If I ever built again in Mexico, he’s my guy.

I bought a house in Sayulita that was in need of substantial renovation. I hired Raul to design and manage the complete project. Raul was on time and on budget with no major surprises. I did add some additional work that was not in the original scope of work and that work was also done on time with very very reasonable prices. Raul Is very honest and you can count on him to get your project completed with minimal surprises. Raul kept get me up-to-date as the project progress with items that were completed as well as payment schedules. I gave Raul my highest recommendation and if I ever built again in Mexico, he’s my guy.

Can’t recommend the team enough.

My wife and I were lucky enough to purchase a new construction home from RVO. The home is beautiful and the high quality craftsmanship stands up to any high end builder we’ve used in the United States. About a year after leaving the home we wanted a bit more indoor space based on how we were living in the home. Raul was more than patient dealing with our ‘ideas’ and was able to design a solution that worked for our needs but kept the original home design in tack. Not an easy solution. Raul and his team ran the project locally while my wife and I were in the US. The project was completed on time and on budget. We couldn’t be happier with the new project. We’ve recd many compliments on how well the addition looks like it was always part of the original. If my wife and I ever do another project in the area RVO will be our partner. Architect Raul Velazquez Stands Alone

Our incredible family adventure to build a special place in Sayulita, Mexico actually began on August 17, 2016. It was on this day that we had the good fortune of having Architect Raul Velazquez respond to one of seven inquiries and follow-up “interviews” I conducted to find the right person with the professional skills and creativity we were looking for. Raul responded within an hour…vital…considering the importance of timely communication when you’re 1,000 miles away! After talking directly with several references he provided, it was clear that Raul’s professional reputation stood well above that of his competition. More important, his previous clients believe in him and the fantastic work that he does.

Building a home in Mexico is a rather daunting task…but not if you have someone as trustworthy and talented as Raul leading the project. The quick story is that after listening closely to our rather specific needs, Raul and his people started our design project immediately began construction in January 2017, and finished our beautiful home in November…on budget…three weeks early. We could stop there, right? Not if you consider some of the most important factors like meeting US/Canada standards when it comes to things like plumbing, electrical, building material selection, and overall workmanship. No one puts these things together like Raul and his people at RVO Studio.

Great Experience, quality workmanship

My wife and I recently completed a complete renovation and modernization of a 6500 sq ft home in the Sayulita area. Working with Raul was a very positive experience. A True Professional

Talented architect, a pleasure to work with!

Raul Velasquez was our architect for our custom home in North Carolina. He went above and beyond what was asked of him and always delivered fantastic results. He really listened to what we wanted and his patience is limitless. One of the things I would like to highlight is that he worked with us via Skype on the entire project. I was hesitant at first because I wasn't sure how it would work out long distance. I mentioned my doubts to him and the thing he told me that most assured me was that he wasn't worried because he always ended up forming great friendships with his clients; even through long distance.
