Crafting Connection: Meet Sayulita’s Local Wedding Officiant
In a town known for its magic, love stories take on new meaning—especially when guided by someone who knows the soul of Sayulita. This month, we caught up with a long-time resident, husband, and father of three who brings warmth, ease, and heartfelt intention to every ceremony he officiates. Whether it’s a beachside wedding or a quiet vow renewal, he helps couples connect with each other—and with Sayulita.

1. Let’s Start with You…
Can you tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to Sayulita?
My family and I moved to Sayulita 8 years ago. What started as a one-year stay quickly became permanent—we fell in love with the atmosphere and the people. Since then, we’ve built a life here with a rental business, a graphic design business, and this officiating service.
What inspired you to start this business here?
I’ve been a wedding officiant for over 10 years, originally in Canada while working with youth and young adults. Helping couples celebrate their love has always been something I care deeply about. In Sayulita, I now officiate dozens of weddings every year.
What’s something most people don’t know about your journey?
Even though I’m relatively young, I’ve been married for over 15 years—we got married at 22. We now have three young boys and truly love the life we’ve created here.
2. About the Business
What makes your wedding officiating service unique in Sayulita?
It’s all about connection. I specialize in beachside weddings that reflect the relaxed, loving spirit of Sayulita. Whether casual, spiritual, or personal—I aim to make every ceremony feel genuine and memorable.
Is there a part of the work that’s especially meaningful to you?
Absolutely. I love crafting ceremonies that are specific to each couple. Getting to know them and telling their story in a heartfelt way is the most rewarding part.
3. Community Connection
What does being part of the Sayulita community mean to you?
It means showing up and getting involved. I’ve helped run a small beach church, served on the kids park committee for nearly five years, and supported local kids’ sports programs. Sayulita is home.
How do you see your business giving back to Sayulita?
Weddings and vow renewals aren’t just services—they’re emotional anchors that create lasting relationships with this town. I’m proud to be part of that process.
4. Personal + Fun
What’s your favorite way to spend a morning in Sayulita?
Spearfishing and surfing with my kids at the main beach.
What captures the essence of Sayulita for you?
The sound of waves crashing on the north beach in the early morning. It’s peaceful and powerful all at once.
Community shoutout?
Rollado’s ice cream tacos 🍦 and El Itacate’s steak tacos 🌮—always a hit!
5. Looking Forward
What’s next for you and your business?
I’ve got lots of small, intimate beach weddings lined up in unique local spots. Every ceremony is a new story waiting to be told.
