Location and Security:
Casa Tranquila is located in Sayulita's quiet North End, just 2 blocks from the main beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. Shops and restaurants are an easy 5-minute walk, the city center is 8 minutes, and popular surf breaks are a 10-minute walk, all with no steep hills to climb on your way home. The house and gardens are completely enclosed with high walls creating a tropical hideaway, ensuring privacy and security. Secured parking is available during the high season, and three safes are available inside the house. Please see note about parking during low season below.

Bedrooms:
There are three large bedrooms, all with AC, comfortable king-sized beds, and bathrooms. The master bedroom with a shared bathroom is on a separate level upstairs, together with the kitchen, living area, and ocean-view terrace (main floor). The remaining two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are on the first floor (ground floor), each with a private entrance from the patio, which allows you to walk directly out onto the pool and garden. If you are traveling with children, and would like to sleep more closely to them, a door connecting these two bedrooms can be unlocked and opened. Also, one of the two king beds can be split into two single beds. In a pinch, a large L-shaped couch in the living area is available to accommodate one adult. The charge for extra persons is $25 / person / night.

Pool Patio and Ocean-View Terrace:
The truly expansive terrace on the main floor has an ocean view. The walk home from the beach is flat, and yet the terrace is a beautiful perch that guarantees ocean-view sunsets every evening, and is also a wonderful place to experience the magic of dawn in Sayulita.  The ground level has a patio, a large pool, and a unique tropical garden of exotic trees and plants, like Yuka, Noni, Lichi, Passionflower, various Haliconias, red ginger, cactus, and cooking herbs. The pool gets plenty of sun, there are hammocks to read in and games to play. These outdoor areas provide plenty of cover for shade.

If you have small children, please do be aware that the pool is not fenced or gated. It's always a good idea to be extra vigilant when they are near the pool area.

Kitchen and Living Space:
The gourmet kitchen, which opens up onto the terrace, is fully functional with modern appliances and plenty of utensils, etc. to accommodate cooking large meals for friends and family. This includes a Keurig single-use coffee maker (bring your own pods). The dishes are traditional Mexican dinnerware and the glassware is hand-blown. The interior décor of the house is unique, some of it designed and handmade locally. If streaming a movie is great family fun for you, a wall-mounted 65" 2018 model Samsung smart TV will allow you to connect to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and Hulu accounts. It does not have cable nor does it broadcast networks.

Local Office:
You are not on your own if something goes wrong. The property managers have an office on the plaza, and an emergency contact number is posted inside the house. Their reputation for security is unmatched, and whether you need water refills or help with travel arrangements to and from the airport, they are always there for you.

Please use the contact form to get in touch with any questions and to request a reservation. We look forward to welcoming you to Sayulita!

Notes about Swimming:
Please note that the swimming pool is unsupervised and that there are no safety fences or gates surrounding the pool. Please be very careful, especially with small children.

Notes about electrical outlets:
Electrical outlets at Casa Tranquila are two-prong only (no ground). They are standard 120-volt/60-cycle current, the same as the US and Canada, so no need to bring adapters and converters.

Notes about Low Season:
Sayulita is great any time of year. But, here are a couple things that you should be aware of during low season. Low season is June 1 – October 31.
Parking during low season:
Low season brings heavy rains to Sayulita. This often washes out the unfinished road that accesses Casa Tranquila’s driveway and secured on-site parking located at the back of the property. If you plan to rent a car during low season, you will want to rent a suburban, jeep, or 4-wheel drive to access the parking space. Public street parking is available in front of the house and is easily accessible by average cars any time of year.
Power, water, and internet during low season:
In addition to rain, it is also the hottest time of the year. Heat and thunder storms (spectacular to see) put a heavy burden on the maturing infrastructure of Sayulita. Demands on restricted resources do cause water shortages, power outages, and internet connectivity issues. There are work-arounds, but just be aware of a degree of unpredictability during the hot and rainy season.

It’s for these reasons that low season is discounted. If you have any questions at all, please send them!

Everything we hoped for and more!
Everything about this Casa made our stay of 32 nights an amazing experience! We have stayed in Sayulita several times before, but this was our longest stay and the first time in our own private Casa. From the owner, Michael-thank you for being so passionate about your Casa in Sayulita and making sure that your clients' requests are met! The gas grill was perfect! To the booking experience (Jennifer-you were amazing to deal with, love how you cover every little detail, kept us up to date on all that concerned us prior to our arrival and are so accommodating!) To the property manager and staff (Ilse-you and your team looked after everything...casa was clean, very well appointed and the items we requested prior to and after our arrival were delivered quickly). And never to forget Alejandro-many thanks for keeping our pool and grounds clean and welcoming.
This Casa is an easy walk to both the north side beach and the center of town. After a day at the beach, it's easy to pick up dinner supplies and head home for a great dinner, prepared fresh in your own kitchen.
We were three couples travelling together and this Casa could not have worked out better! The layout of the Casa worked so well...beautiful big kitchen to prepare meals (and make margaritas to enjoy at happy hour around the pool), the large covered deck where we could enjoy our morning coffee and listen to the birds sing, and with the ocean views, even spot the odd whale breaching in the distance, then all meet at days end to enjoy a freshly prepared dinner together and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. The king bedrooms provided privacy and comfort for all!
Looking forward to our return and hope to enjoy this wonderful little paradise again, hopefully soon!!!!

First, we had the best communication with the owner who was quick to respond to any questions we had and offered many helpful tips.
The house and its amenities were more than we needed. The house was extremely clean and the grounds, landscaping and pool area were spectacular and beautiful. The location was perfect and we never felt anything but safe. . Peaceful but yet close to the beach, town, restaurants so we could experience everything. If you are trying to decide between the numerous houses to rent in Sayulita, we would recommend this one!!!

This house was perfect for us!
It was very safe and secure, the pool was a welcome break from the hot weather, and the location was perfect! Just enough outside the main downtown area but still very walkable! We will be recommending this place to friends and family and hope to come back and visit soon!

Loved the location, highly recommended!
Great location! You are tucked away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to enjoy the town. If you’re coming during the rainy season, a golf cart is highly recommended (made our lives 100% easier). We felt incredibly safe and loved our stay! Individual A/C’s in every bedroom made it extremely comfortable. It’s very hot and the A/C was needed for a good night sleep! Our only complaint is communication with the property manager when we had a couple issues that needed a quick resolution. Would highly recommend!

Such a beautiful space!
Worked perfectly for our family. Still has nice traditional Mexican architecture with arched ceilings, a lovely swimming pool, all the cooking utensils you might need, and great outdoor space. You can see the water from the porch but you're still nestled in the jungle with lots of trees and shade. Really sweet spot

Great place for a quiet vacation
Great place and well taken care of by the team taking care of the property. Clean and easy and nice location close enough to the main strip but far enough away for a quiet stay.

Amazing home and town
We had an amazing time in Sayulita mostly because Casa Tranquila and the hospitality set us up to really enjoy ourselves. First of all, his place is amazing: two levels (our teens were on a different level, by the pool, in their own rooms - teenage heaven), private pool, beautiful covered patio where we watched the sunset and air-conditioning. His place was just a 5 minute walk to the beach and an 8 minute walk to the center of town - far enough away to avoid the noise and traffic. Second, the communication before we arrived was spectacular. We had many questions about the town, excursions, transportation and restaurants, and the responses were not only fast but very helpful. Lastly, we created a few mishaps from our mistakes (locked ourselves out and bungled the operation to the safe), but his people were there to quickly help us. We would highly recommended staying at Michael's if you're coming to Sayulita.

Highly recommend this lovely home in sayulita!
Casa Tranquila is a lovely peaceful home with everything you need for a great trip to Sayulita. It is a short walk (5 minutes) to the north side of the beach where there are less people and a great stretch of beautiful beach for relaxing. The house is spacious and comfortable with many different areas to hang out together or on your own. We were 3 adults and two kids and spent a lot of time relaxing by the pool watching parrots and beautiful birds in the garden around the house.

We enjoyed fruit from the trees surrounding the property picked for us by the super friendly gardener. It is a short walk to town and every restaurant we tried was delicious. There are a few spots very close to the house if you don’t want to go into the busier parts of town where you can get great food ranging from ceviche to pizza. We liked El Jakal the best and had ice cream on that block every day. If you want to cook the kitchen is well equipped and the grill is great. We were there in August and enjoyed the fans on the upper deck to keep cool and had a great spot to sit and watch the occasional rain storm.
