Location and Security:
Casa Tranquila is located in Sayulita's quiet North End, just 2 blocks from the North Beach. Everything you need is within walking distance. Shops and restaurants are an easy 5-minute walk, the city center is 8 minutes, and popular surf breaks are a 10-minute walk, all with no steep hills to climb on your way home. The house and gardens are completely enclosed with high walls creating a tropical hideaway, ensuring privacy and security. Secured parking is available during the high season, and three safes are available inside the house. Please see note about parking during low season below.

There are three large bedrooms, all with AC, comfortable king-sized beds, and bathrooms. The master bedroom with a shared bathroom is on a separate level upstairs, together with the kitchen, living area, and ocean-view terrace (main floor). The remaining two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms are on the first floor (ground floor), each with a private entrance from the patio, which allows you to walk directly out onto the pool and garden. If you are traveling with children, and would like to sleep more closely to them, a door connecting these two bedrooms can be unlocked and opened. Also, one of the two king beds can be split into two single beds. In a pinch, a large L-shaped couch in the living area is available to accommodate one adult. The charge for extra persons is $25 / person / night.

Pool Patio and Ocean-View Terrace:
The truly expansive terrace on the main floor has an ocean view. The walk home from the beach is flat, and yet the terrace is a beautiful perch that guarantees ocean-view sunsets every evening, and is also a wonderful place to experience the magic of dawn in Sayulita.  The ground level has a patio, a large pool, and a unique tropical garden of exotic trees and plants, like Yuka, Noni, Lichi, Passionflower, various Haliconias, red ginger, cactus, and cooking herbs. The pool gets plenty of sun, there are hammocks to read in and games to play. These outdoor areas provide plenty of cover for shade.

Kitchen and Living Space:
The gourmet kitchen, which opens up onto the terrace, is fully functional with modern appliances and plenty of utensils, etc. to accommodate cooking large meals for friends and family. This includes a Keurig single-use coffee maker (bring your own pods). The dishes are traditional Mexican dinnerware and the glassware is hand-blown. The interior décor of the house is unique, some of it designed and handmade locally. If streaming a movie is great family fun for you, a wall-mounted 65" 2018 model Samsung smart TV will allow you to connect to your Netflix, Amazon Prime, YouTube, and Hulu accounts. It does not have cable nor does it broadcast networks.

Local Office:
You are not on your own if something goes wrong. The property managers have an office on the plaza, and an emergency contact number is posted inside the house. Their reputation for security is unmatched, and whether you need water refills or help with travel arrangements to and from the airport, they are always there for you.

Please use the contact form to get in touch with any questions and to request a reservation. We look forward to welcoming you to Sayulita!

Notes about Swimming:
Please note that the swimming pool is unsupervised and that there are no safety fences or gates surrounding the pool. Please be very careful, especially with small children.

Notes about electrical outlets:
Electrical outlets at Casa Tranquila are two-prong only (no ground). They are standard 120-volt/60-cycle current, the same as the US and Canada, so no need to bring adapters and converters.

Notes about Low Season:
Sayulita is great any time of year. But, here are a couple things that you should be aware of during low season. Low season is June 1 – October 31.
Parking during low season:
Low season brings heavy rains to Sayulita. This often washes out the unfinished road that accesses Casa Tranquila’s driveway and secured on-site parking located at the back of the property. If you plan to rent a car during low season, you will want to rent a suburban, jeep, or 4-wheel drive to access the parking space. Public street parking is available in front of the house and is easily accessible by average cars any time of year.
Power, water, and internet during low season:
In addition to rain, it is also the hottest time of the year. Heat and thunder storms (spectacular to see) put a heavy burden on the maturing infrastructure of Sayulita. Demands on restricted resources do cause water shortages, power outages, and internet connectivity issues. There are work-arounds, but just be aware of a degree of unpredictability during the hot and rainy season.

It’s for these reasons that low season is discounted. If you have any questions at all, please send them!

We look forward to welcoming you to Casa Tranquila. Please use the contact form for inquiries or reservations.

Best hospitality experience anywhere in the world
I can’t say enough about how amazing Casa Tranquila was for us. The location on the quiet side of town is perfect. It’s a close enough walk to the beach and central sayuulita, but it feels like you’re in your own world. The house itself is gorgeous, and the lush tropical jungle surrounding the pool provides amazing bird and butterfly viewing. The pictures don’t do it justice. The upstairs porch provides a lovely shady oasis to escape the summer heat and occasional thunderstorms. The kitchen is well equipped, AC in the bedrooms works really well, and the beds are clean and comfortable. In addition to all of this, we felt well taken care of and the few issues we had were addressed and dealt with immediately. Jennifer responded to all of our communications quickly, and was thorough, helpful, and kind. This was above and beyond any other vacation rental I’ve stayed in before. I just got home and already can’t wait to return.

A true life “PARADISE” people!
This is the best vacation rental in Sayulita! The location is perfect- not on top of the lively noise but very close to beach and town. The outdoor space was so charming. It was nice to escape the heat but still be outside to enjoy the breeze. Kitchen was fully equipped, with a massive 65” tv in the living room 👍 however, we ended up eating out quite a bit because of the amazing food in town! Mike the owner was amazing and always asked if we needed anything! Great place and great hosts! Thank you for making our honeymoon absolutely outstanding! We will be back for sure on our anniversary, which we’re in the process of booking now… We can’t thank you enough, Casa Tranquila was like a home away from home!

Can't wait to come back!
Two friends and I stayed here for a week and really enjoyed our time! Our host Jennifer, housekeeper, and groundskeeper all made sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed during our stay. Functionally, the space is very large and has everything you could need and more - one of the most well-stocked kitchens I’ve experienced with a vacation rental, plenty of beach towels and umbrellas/chairs. There are multiple areas to work - both inside and outside. We especially enjoyed all the outdoor space that was perfect for relaxing. The pool is amazing and well kept. The location is set off from the busyness of the main beach/town area, yet still walkable to all the action. It was so nice to be just a couple of blocks from a relatively quiet part of the beach. Overall we loved our lush, nature-filled stay. It was so relaxing and beautiful, and we can’t wait to return

Everything was amazing!
Casa Tranquila was the highlight of our stay in Bahia de Banderas. We stayed for five nights. Everything was within walking distance including the closest beach — about 3 blocks away. Communication was great and we felt extremely secure in our home. The pool was EVERYTHING. Some of my travel companions don't fare well in the heat, so beating the mid-day sun with a dip in the pool was a daily occurrence. The rooms were extremely comfortable, with fans and AC. I'd recommend bringing earplugs to wear while you sleep so the roosters and chachalacas don't wake you up too early.

10/10 Excellent!
My husband, son, and I had a great vacation here with my parents! We’ve stayed in some great places in Sayulita, and Casa Tranquila is top tier. I was impressed with how sparkling clean the inside and the upstairs patio were upon arrival. The upstairs patio gets a fantastic breeze, and we saw some fantastic sunsets up there. The location is great! Close enough to the beach that my 4 year old could walk back after a long day at the beach, and it’s close to town (but not toooo close)! The house manager was super communicative and made booking/checking-in a breeze. The groundskeeper keeps the property immaculate, and he even gave us bananas and lychee that were growing on site. It’s an impressive, clean home that I’d recommend to all.

Highly Recommend
Casa Tranquila was everything we were looking for! The location is perfect - two blocks from the beach, just a couple more to downtown, and quiet at night. The house is super comfortable with lots of places to hang out and relax. We also really loved the kitchen, it was charming and very well stocked with everything we could have needed. The pictures don't quite do the rental justice. Everything from the beautiful garden to the art and decor seemed to be very thoughtfully put together. Highly recommend! Especially great option for 3 couples - 3 king beds each with their own bathroom is a huge plus.

Great Location and Beautiful!
Felt a wave of relaxation the moment we stepped foot on this property. This was a wonderful place to stay in Sayulita, only two blocks away from the beach with wonderful dining options nearby and the main part of town just a ten-minute walk away. The three rooms were well equipped with king-size beds and private bathrooms in each room. The pool was the perfect temperature and there were many lounge chairs around to get some sunlight, and a large modern BBQ to whip up a little feast. Upstairs there is a giant patio with the comfiest hammocks a large sectional couch and two tables. These were perfect spots to sit down with my laptop and get some work done while admiring all the beauty outside. The kitchen has everything you could need and a great stove. The massive 65" TV has all of the streaming services you could want built-in and was great to relax on the comfy indoor couch and watch some shows in the evening. One thing to note is that internet access in parts of Sayulita are a bit limited. This is due to the infrastructure and not the location itself. The internet company is actively installing Fiber connections into town, and with any luck more of this relaxing paradise will have better connectivity. The best internet connections tend to be near the main area of town, and more limited in the Northern area. The network at the house was able to stream from Netflix, but I had to tether to my mobile phone for work stuff. and a set of beach chairs and umbrellas to head down to the beach

Great kitchen and location!
We have stayed in a bunch of places in Sayulita, and Casa Tranquila had the best equipment for cooking, including a great bbq. The house was wonderful for our family of 5, but would be perfect for three couples as well. The beach is closer than I thought!

Immersion in all aspects of foreign cultures is my passion. My travels have taken me across the world: SE Asia, Indonesia, Central/ South America, Cuba, India and, of course, Mexico. I have travelled throughout Mexico for over 35 years, and finally (finally!!) stumbled upon Sayulita a few years back. After returning many times, I decided to put down roots, and now Casa Tranquila is my most amazing home away from home. I have surfed, skied, and scuba dived across the globe, and of all the places I have traveled, Sayulita is a stand-out. I love it for its cosmopolitan, yet small-town feel, for its tight-knit community that looks out for each other in a way that only a small town can, to say nothing of the extraordinary surfing, fishing, and stunning beaches. As someone who engages with life on as many levels as possible, this town keeps me coming back. Sayulita is not a place, it’s a way of life. I welcome you to also make Casa Tranquila your home away from home! Live life to the fullest. We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time. Enjoy!
