Stayed here 6 nights as part of a group of 17. Lots of room to not be on top of each other but small enough to let the kids run.
Spent a week at Casa Gala March 9th - 16th with a few other couples and college age kids. Our stay was fantastic. Gary was very easy to work with and everything went very smooth from booking, to check-in and to check-out. I have stayed at several vacation rentals in Mexico including others in Sayulita, so I thought I would list some pros/cons and additional info on the property to help potential future renters.Pros:Lots of space. The 4 main bedrooms are plenty spacious, the bunkbed room works for kids/teenagers. The living room could also be used by a family as extra sleeping space as it is closed off with another bedroom and bathroom. All of the beds and bedding were very comfortable.Close to town. Less than a 10 minute walk to town and less than 5 to the beach, all on flat ground. Several good restaurants nearby.Extras. The house includes use of the washer/dryer which is awesome, most rentals don't. There are also beach chairs, shade umbrella, towels, Bluetooth speaker, surfboard, books, etc.Rooftop deck and pool. Just like the pictures show, both are great.Cons:Noise. The house is at the intersection of a fairly well used roads and right across the street from a school. Seems like a lot of construction up the road as well. Didn't really bother our group as it is mostly during the day.Maid service. The maid only comes on Wednesday. Not sure this is a con, as our group actually preferred not having to avoid the maid everyday like at some other properties. I believe you could request more frequent visits as well.Note on Sayulita:We had no issues with sickness beyond the normal brief upset stomachs that happen all the time when traveling abroad. This is my 3rd time to Sayulita and have never had an issue. Also, March is a very busy month compared to middle of April and November. Weather was great all three times. All in all great trip. Hopefully will be back and wouldn't hesitate to rent Casa Gala again.
Matteo was prompt, safe and very reliable. We arrived a bit early to Puerto Vallarta and transportation was easily spotted. Our driver spoke perfect English and allowed as much time as we needed at the Mega. He was early for our return to the airport, lots of room for luggage etc.
We were two couples 50-60 yrs old and stayed in Casitas #2 and #4. They had a beeeutiful view from the spacious balconies. Lots of steps so not suitable for anyone with trouble walking. Pool a nice break from the busy beach. Location was perfect to town and to the beach. Casita had everything we needed, lots of choice of restaurants in town for a good price, no need to cook. Bookings and instructions were very easy. No problems.
We (married couple and 10/8 year olds) visited Sayulita for the first time aroundPresidents' Day week and were incredibly happy with our decision to stay at Casa Valmonte. The owner and property manager were easy to communicate with and provided anyinfo and arrangements needed prior to our trip. We loved the house (really 2 separateresidences) and were surrounded by the feeling of, and woke feeling like, we were in a treehouse. Gorgeous trees, birds, and giant iguanas greeted us throughout the day. Everythingwe needed for our stay was provided in the well-stocked house. It's a relatively steep , but pretty easy, walk to the main square just down the hill (my kids had no issues) and thebeach is a couple short blocks past that. 5-10min. You're surrounded by other gorgeoushouses, but the size of the Valmonte lot makes it seem like you're very private, with greatviews of the ocean and surrounding hills. Our only concern was the fact that the two separate levels, as noted by others, made ituncomfortable for us to have the kids sleeping on one, with us on the other. This isdescribed by the owner, but we were definitely hesitant ourselves. The lower level, whilevery well lit, requires you to walk down outside stairs to reach it. We ended up splittingtime between mom/kid, dad/kid, etc. sleeping arrangements due to this.Overall, we LOVED the property, it's location, views, and the space itself, and certainly recommend it. We'd love to return.
We really enjoyed the house...great kitchen and pool!
We each had the Breakfast Burrito and it was nothing more than a scrambled egg with some bell peppers. Just super boring and no taste.
We ate at Si Senors for our anniversary and it was at the base of our hotel, we didn't want to pay extra to use the gazebo so we ate in the tree area. Love the atmosphere, and our waiter was amazing. Made our guacamole at the table and It was so good, I couldn't stop eating it.I had pasta but my husband ordered the special blue lobster. Unfortunately he got very sick that is the only thing we could pin point as we shared everything else the whole trip. He was better 24 hours later, it was also $100 usd for the lobster which we were not expecting. We would definitely eat here again. Everything was delish just a little snafu which happens in Mexico.
off the beaten path, we enjoyed dinner in the early evening, unique foods that were delicious. Drinks were fun too. Waiter and bartender were so nice and easy going, felt very comfortable and kinda romantic ;)
We grabbed a umbrella every day and enjoyed food and drinks, surfed. the staff were very attentive and cleared out plates and ready to bring a new drink at any time. Really good vibes, and so friendly. One of the waiters remembered my husband from a previous trip. Nachos are amazing!! and margaritas too!
