Excitement was in the air in Sayulita on Tuesday, as some of Mexico’s finest athletes donned their team jerseys and gathered for the official team photograph for the upcoming 2015 International Surfing Association (ISA) World Standup Paddle (SUP) and Paddleboard Championship. This championship is a big deal and is taking place in Sayulita, Mexico on May 10th through the­ 17th. Passersby looked upon the scene with interest, and then broke out in huge smiles when they realized what they were witnessing.

Athletes from around the world are arriving and can be spotted practicing in the surf, along with some of Mexico’s world class surfers. Many of these surfers call Sayulita home, including Team Mexico Captain Fernando Stalla and Coach Ryan Helm. The ISA Worlds have never been held in Mexico, and Sayulita is honored to welcome everyone.
