The Grupo Pro Sayulita (GPS) Board would like to thank everyone for their participation during the Annual General Meeting and for all the staff work that led up to it. GPS is proud to have the largest membership in our history. We believe that this speaks to the strength of our community and to each of our members. One hundred and twenty-nine voters were present, mostly in person, but some but were present by proxy.

As you know, this organization was created in 2007 to provide a voice for our town. As we grow and become more inclusive, we are proud to strengthen that voice. We hope you continue to share your thoughts and wishes with us so we can continue to grow together.

We have a lot to do and we look forward to working together to keep Sayulita an incredible place to live, work, and play.

Meeting Highlights and Voting Results:

The re-elected officers and board are very excited about the addition of five very accomplished new board members and the new infrastructure committee. The infrastructure committee, organized by Lina Weissman, is a growing partnership between Eco Sayulita and Pro Sayulita.

The GPS membership is solidly behind the Infrastructure Committee and their solutions to current sewer problems. The recommended solution is to install an emisor (large pipe) under the beach and ocean floor stretching 2 KM out to sea to distribute the treated macerated sewer plant outflow. The emisor could be complete within three months of receiving permits and signing a construction contract. The Infrastructure fund has received $70,000 in donations and is well on its way to a goal of $500,000.
