On a personal note, I wish to thank all of our readers for their kind emails and comments in support of our efforts in publishing El Sayulero every Friday. Even this little one-page "e-zine" takes quite a bit of effort every week, and hearing praise from our readers makes it all worth while. I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank our writers, Lindsay and Patricia, for all their efforts every week. As you can see below, I have convinced them to let me include their pictures at the bottom of the corresponding interviews and articles.

On Monday, November 24, the Sayulita Ejido (consisting of pueblos from Lo de Marcos to Higuera Blanca) celebrated its 72nd anniversary commemorating the date when it was given the use of ejidal land by the Mexican federal government. The entire town of Sayulita took part in the celebration starting with a morning pledge of allegiance to the flag along with the national anthem. A parade soon followed where all the ejidatarios (ejido officials) marched along to the giant fiesta held at Las Gardenias, the property of Sr. Santos Virgen, located on the left side of the road as you first enter Sayulita. The fiesta offered multiple entertainment acts, live music, DJs, and all you can eat and all you can drink. There was no charge for anyone attending the event. Yes, that is correct, free for all attendees, nationals and foreigners alike! The party went until the early hours of the following morning with plenty of dancing, fun, and entertainment providing a classic Mexican Fiesta!
El pasado lunes 24 de noviembre, el ejido de Sayulita, que agrupa a todas las poblaciones ubicadas entre Lo de Marcos e Higuera Blanca, festejo el 72 aniversario de la dotación de tierras ejidales por parte del gobierno federal. El pueblo entero celebro desde el inicio del día con Honores a la Bandera en el local del Ejido, un desfile con los ejidatarios y al medio día con un gran festejo en el local Las Gardenias, propiedad del Sr. Santos Virgen. En el festejo, los que estuvimos presentes, pudimos disfrutar de la comida, la bebida y la música gratis. Todo el pueblo de Sayulita y personas venidas de los diferentes pueblos que conforman el ejido se dieron cita para celebrar al ejido. Todo el que se presento en Las Gardenias fue bien recibido, nacionales y extranjeros. El baile se prolongó hasta altas horas de la noche y todos los presentes disfrutaron con la música de diferentes grupos. Felicidades Ejido Sayulita!

2. Birthdate/age: June 19th 1978, I am 30 years old.

3. Born in Sayulita? If not when did you first come to Sayulita? I was born in Mexico City. I first came to Sayulita to live in 2006. I came to work in the pharmacy that is across from La Tiendita corner store near the plaza.
3. Nació en Sayulita? Nací en la ciudad de México. Vine a Sayulita a vivir en el ano 2006. Llegue para trabajar en la farmacia que esta enfrente la tiendita cerca de la plaza.
4. Education level: I studied at the National University of Mexico. I am a general practitioner doctor.
4. Nivel de educación: Estudie en la universidad nacional de México. Soy medico general.
5. Family history & information: Right now my parents are living in Queretaro, outside Mexico City. Here in Sayulita I live with my wife Paulina, who also works with me in the clinic. She is also a licensed Chiropractor.
5. Vive con su familia? Ahorita mis papas viven en Querétaro, fuera de la ciudad de México. Aquí en Sayulita yo vivo con mi esposa Paulina quien trabaja también conmigo en la clínica. Ella también es una quiropráctica autorizada.
6. Employment/business history: Throughout my entire life I've had many different jobs and done many different things from washing cars at a very young age to becoming an accountant for a while. My passion is medicine and chiropractic work. Paulina and I opened the new clinic on November 4th because we feel there is a need for a clinic with reasonable prices and quality care. At the clinic we both give chiropractic care and medical attention to people, including taking care of injuries, infections and/or illness and was well as general check-ups.
6. Empleo/Negocio/Ocupación: Durante toda mi vida he tenido muchos trabajos y he trabajado en diferentes empleos. He lavado carros cuando era muy joven hasta fui un contador por un tiempo. Ahora me enfoco mas en lo que es ser medico, quiropráctico, y también diseño paginas de Internet. Paulina y yo abrimos esta clínica el 4 de Noviembre por que pensamos que hay una necesidad de una clínica con precios razonables y de buena calidad. Aquí en la clínica somos quiroprácticos, damos atención medica a personas que tienen heridas, infecciones y/o enfermedades y damos creceos en general.
7. One positive change you have seen in Sayulita? A positive change is that the community is pulling together more to make a difference. There are several groups to help Sayulita like Amigos de Sayulita, and Grupo Pro Sayulita, and the recycling team.
7. Algún cambio positivo que haya observado en Sayulita? Un cambio positivo es la participación de la comunidad ayudando a hacer una diferencia en el pueblo. Hay grupos que están ayudando Sayulita como Amigos de Sayulita, Grupo Pro Sayulita, y el equipo de reciclaje.
8. One negative change you have seen in Sayulita? There is a lot of drug abuse in Sayulita, the lack of control over stray dogs running around Sayulita, and the general contamination of the beach are all negative changes in town.
8. Algún cambio negativo que haya observado en Sayulita? Hay mucho abuso de drogas, una falta de control sobre los perros de las calles, y en general la contaminación de la playa son cambios negativos en el pueblo.
9. How do you imagine Sayulita in 10 years: I think Sayulita will grow to be very big, become more of a tourist destination with big hotels and condominiums and will have a much more urban feel.

10. Do you have a recommendation for the people of Sayulita? Take care of your children. The youth of Sayulita are our future and we need to help take care of the town together.
