If you are going to be in town next Wednesday, this is truly THE event of the year to attend. Food, Music, Dancing, Auctions, Fun!

Music, dancing, food and auctions will be the focus of the upcoming Annual 2009 Fiesta and Fundraiser sponsored by Grupo Pro Sayulita to be held on Wednesday, March 25th from 5:30 pm to 10:00 pm at the spectacular Don Pedro palapa across from the cemetery above Sayulita´s South End playa. In a move to address the current recession that is affecting many expat residents and visitors to Mexico and in particular to Sayulita, the event will focus on raising funds for the specific needs of the various entities the organization supports within the local community. The event´s silent auction will focus on four specific community needs so that attendees can directly target their particular area of interest - recycling, beach safety, the new Sayulita Animal Clinic and local schools. A live auction and portion of the silent auction will also feature art, jewelry, travel and other luxury items as in the past. Taking center stage as Master of Ceremonies will be Rollie Dick, of the famous Rollie´s Restaurant. Also present will be Choco Banana'sfamous ChocoChips, whose hilarious Chippendale-esque performance promises to raise festivities to frenzy as well as other fun surprises. Founded in 2006, the GPS mission is to help to make Sayulita a better place to live and visit. Over the years, the organization has funded major infrastructure improvements to the Primary school, basic materials to all the class rooms (paper, pens, pencils, book, etc), helped fund the recycling program, provided a small garbage truck and garbage cans for trash collection, helped hookup properties to the sewage treatment plant along Revolucion, major improvements to the Sewage Plant operation and, in April, a new public bathroom will open next to the bus stop next to the baseball field. Tickets to the annual fundraiser at Don Pedro's "Palapa Palace" on the point are $500 Pesos and include dinner, one free drink and loads of fun. The location, food and drink are all donated by Don Pedro's Restaurant. Other donors will be highlighted at the event. Transportation will be provided from the Plaza. Música, baile, comida y la subasta será el foco de la próxima Fiesta Anual de 2009 y patrocinado por el Grupo de Fondos Pro Sayulita, que se celebrará el miércoles 25 de marzo de 5:30 pm a 10:00 pm en la espectacular palapa a través de Don Pedro de el cementerio del Sur por encima de Sayulita Fin playa.
En un movimiento para hacer frente a la actual recesión que afecta a muchos expatriados residentes y visitantes a Mexico y en particular a Sayulita, el evento se centrará en la recaudación de fondos para las necesidades específicas de las distintas entidades dentro de la organización apoya a la comunidad local.
El evento de la subasta silenciosa se centrará en cuatro necesidades de la comunidad para que los asistentes pueden directamente su objetivo particular, área de interés - el reciclado, la playa de la seguridad, la nueva Clínica de Sayulita animal y las escuelas locales. Una subasta en vivo y parte de la subasta también contará con el arte, joyas, viajes y otros artículos de lujo como en el pasado.
Tomando el centro de la escena como maestro de ceremonias será Rollie Dick, de la famosa Rollie del Restaurante. También estuvieron presentes se Choco Banana famoso ChocoChips, cuyo hilarante Chippendale-esque promete aumentar el rendimiento al frenesí de fiestas, así como otras divertidas sorpresas.
Fundada en 2006, el GPS misión es ayudar a hacer Sayulita un lugar mejor para vivir y visitar. Lo largo de los años, la organización ha financiado importantes mejoras de la infraestructura a la escuela primaria, las materias primas a todas las salas de clase (papel, bolígrafos, lápices, libros, etc), ayudó a financiar el programa de reciclaje, a condición de un pequeño camión de basura y botes de basura para recolección de basura, con la ayuda de conexiones, en la planta de tratamiento de aguas residuales a lo largo de Revolución, las grandes mejoras de la operación de plantas de aguas residuales y, en abril, un nuevo baño público, se abrirá junto a la parada de autobús al lado del campo de béisbol.
Entradas a la revisión anual de fondos en el Don Pedro de la "Palapa Palace" en el punto que son de $ 500 pesos e incluyen la cena, una bebida gratis y un montón de diversión. La ubicación, los alimentos y bebidas son todas donadas por el Restaurante Don Pedro. Otros donantes se destacó en el evento.
Se facilitará el transporte de la Plaza. Los boletos están disponibles en la puerta, en la Plaza y en el Restaurante Rollie.

| The new entranceway to Sayulita is almost finished and open to traffic. First the water company must finish connecting the tubing and water lines; which has been the cause of the current water problems all over town. On Monday March 16th, the water was scheduled to be cut off for 3 days to test the main piping along the new boulevard. Imelda, who works at the water treatment plant, said that they expect there to be delays in testing the tubing and there could be another day or two without town water all over Sayulita. Everything is expected to be back to normal by the end of the week. In the mean time, if anyone experiences problems receiving town water after the next couple of days, please go to the water treatment plant to report any problems and the town will send a water truck to fill your holding tank free of charge.
La nueva entrada a Sayulita casi esta terminada y abierta para el trafico pero primero, la compañía de agua ha estado conectando los entronques de tubería, lo cual ha causado problemas con el agua por todo el pueblo. El lunes 16 de Marzo iban a cortar el agua del pueblo por 3 días para probar la tubería por la nueva calle principal entrando Sayulita. Imelda, quien trabajara para la planta de tratamiento de agua, dice que a lo mejor hay demoras con las pruebas y va a haber uno o dos días más sin agua en Sayulita. Se espera que vuelva a la normalidad para el fin de la semana y si alguien tiene problemas recibiendo agua del pueblo entre los próximos días, favor de acudir a la planta de tratamiento de agua para reportar cualquier problema y el pueblo mandara una pipa a llenar los aljibes gratuitamente.

| The Bertha von Glumer Kindergarten held their annual Spring parade yesterday. Proud parents and their children dressed as mermaids, butterflies, and wild animals gathered in front of the stage at 5 PM to witness the crowning of the Spring King & Queen. First we were introduced to the Princes & Princesses: Irving & Zusaly, as well ad Jose & Cynthia. Soon after, Caesar and Julieta were crowned King & Queen of Spring. The royal court and supporting cast were loaded onto beautifully decorated trucks for the procession around town. Young Caesar was a little overcome by the occasion and refused to leave his mother but Queen Julieta graciously smiled and waved for the cameras while throwing handfuls of candy to the delight of the children following the parade of honking cars and trucks.

6. What is your favorite meal to eat or prepare in Sayulita? I like to make grilled fish with plantains. Not many people make it here but it's very good.
6. Cual es tu platillo favorito de comer o preparar en Sayulita? Me gusta hacer pescado planchado con plátanos machos. No hay mucha gente que lo hace aquí pero esta muy rico.
7. Employment/business history. For many years I did a lot of travelling and craftwork. I opened Ojo de Venado store four years ago and then two stores in Puerto Vallarta a year and half ago. I opened the hostel a month ago with the idea that Sayulita has become very expensive for many people to come visit so the hostel is a way for students in Mexico and Latin America to visit Sayulita without having to spend too much money on expensive villas or bungalows. A lot of the funds from the hostel will go towards helping children who normally couldn't afford it, go to the private schools and give them a better education.
7. Empleo/Negocio/Ocupación: Por varios anos viajaba mucho y hacia artesanías. Abrí la tienda Ojo De Venado hace 4 anos y luego abrí 2 tiendas en Puerto Vallarta hace un ano y medio. El Hostal abrí hace un mes con la idea de que Sayulita ahora es muy caro y el hostal les dará a los estudiantes mexicanos y latinoamericanos la oportunidad de visitar Sayulita sin gastar tanto en villas o bungalows. Una parte de los fondos van a ir a ayudar a los niños, quienes normalmente no podrían, ir a escuelas privadas y darles una mejor educación.
8. What do you like best about Sayulita? I like the nature there is in Sayulita and that it's a quite peaceful town.

10 If you could easily change ONE thing in Sayulita, what would it be? Sayulita has become a place of wealth but there needs to be more done to help the poor and especially the children who don't have as good of opportunities as others may have. The town needs to come together more and there needs to be a better sense of community.

Sayulita ahora es un lugar con riqueza pero hay que hacer mas para ayudar con la pobreza del pueblo especialmente ayudar a los niños que no tienen tantas oportunidades que otros tienen.
