In conjunction with Proteccion Civil, Sayulita Surf Rescue conducted another very successful two-day training, April 7th and 8th. This now brings us over the 300 mark of the number of people that have been trained since the inception of this program in the fall of 2010. The training was initially started in reaction to the drowning of Zach Chambers, a Firefighter from Port Townsend, WA. A group of friends and local businesses formed the Zach Chambers Foundation which funded, along with Pro Sayulita, many of the trainers who would fly in from all over America to conduct the training. Clean Streets, Safe Water and More. Since 2005, ProSayulita, a local non-profit, has been committed to improving the quality of life in our town.   Most recently, ProSayulita partnered with the Delegada (our local representative working with the Mayor of Bahia Banderas) to clean the streets in the downtown area. In the next few days, ProSayulita is sponsoring water testing at key points in the ocean and the river. Testing will now happen 4 times a year at strategic times, to ensure the safety of the water for tourists and locals.  Keep an eye out for the results.     ProSayulita wants to continue…
