Meet “La Virocha” – Sayulita’s Traveling Massage Therapist with a Heart for Healing
Rosa María Pérez de Anda, affectionately known as La Virocha, is a well-loved member of the Sayulita community. With a kind spirit, dedication to wellness, and a team of hand-selected therapists, she has built a mobile massage business rooted in care and connection. We had the pleasure of speaking with Rosa about her journey, her business, and the community she gives back to so generously.
1. Let’s start with you…
My name is Rosa María Pérez de Anda, though most people in Sayulita know me as “La Virocha.” I’m originally from Guadalupe Victoria, in the municipality of San Blas, Nayarit.
I moved to Sayulita nine years ago looking for new opportunities. At the time, I couldn’t find work in my field—health and beauty—so I decided to try my luck in this beautiful place. I worked as an employee for three years, but my true dream was to start something of my own.
With effort and persistence, I began my business as a mobile therapist. I went door to door leaving my cards, shared my services, and left my information in hotels… Little by little, I began building a client base. It hasn’t been easy, but when you do something with love and dedication, the good results follow.
As my clients started asking for more services, I knew it was time to grow. That’s when I put together my own team of therapists, carefully selecting responsible and caring people to offer high-quality service.
2. About your business
What makes my business special is that we bring our services directly to the comfort of your home. We offer massages with cleanliness, punctuality, empathy, and above all, a lot of love. Our goal is to bring peace, relaxation, and comfort through each session.
I see myself as someone with an open mind and a kind heart. I love serving others, and I enjoy connecting with people from other places—learning about their customs and local dishes is something that brings me joy.
3. Connection with the community
I’m deeply grateful to Sayulita. This town has given stability to me and my family, and I honor it with all my heart.
I always try to give something back. I share what I know with those in need, participate in town and beach clean-up events, and help however I can when someone comes to me.
4. Personal + Fun
My favorite way to spend a morning in Sayulita is simple: I love sipping coffee by the ocean. That peaceful moment is something I truly treasure.
One of my favorite places to eat is Aloha Catering, by Chef Gaby Aloha. Her dishes are absolutely delicious—highly recommended!
5. Looking ahead
I’m always looking for ways to improve and keep learning, so I can offer the best possible service to those who trust in my work. My goal is to keep growing, both as a professional and as a person, and to reach even more people with what we do with so much love.
6. For our readers
I’m truly thankful for all the kind recommendations people have given about me and my work. If you’d like to support me, the best way is to try our services and share them with friends or family visiting Sayulita.
