SayuParke: A Community Park Built by Sayulita, For Sayulita

In a town where the beach often takes center stage, there is another special place where Sayulita’s youngest residents gather, laugh, and play every day: SayuParke, our community park for kids.

Located in the heart of town, SayuParke has become an important part of daily life for many local families. It’s where kids meet after school, where parents gather while their children climb and play, and where friendships are formed under the shade of the trees. For many families, it’s the only dedicated outdoor space where children can safely run, play, and simply be kids.

What makes SayuParke even more special is that it was built entirely by the community. Local residents, volunteers, and supporters came together with a shared vision to create a space for Sayulita’s children – and today, that vision continues to thrive thanks to the generosity of those who care about keeping it alive.

But like many community projects, SayuParke runs entirely on donations, and right now the park needs a little help from the community once again.

The SayuParke team is currently looking for two important forms of support:

1. Committee Members
The park is maintained by a small group of volunteers who help coordinate maintenance, improvements, and fundraising. New committee members would bring fresh energy and ideas to help guide the park’s future and ensure it remains a vibrant space for years to come. Even a small amount of time can make a big difference.

2. Monthly Support from 12 Families
SayuParke is hoping to find 12 families willing to commit to donating $3,000 pesos per month. This funding would cover the salary of the woman who cleans and maintains the park twice each week, ensuring the space stays clean, safe, and welcoming for the many children who play there every day.

In other words, just 12 families can ensure the park stays cared for all year long.

SayuParke is more than just a playground, it’s a place where Sayulita’s children grow up together. It’s part of their routines, their friendships, and their childhood memories. It’s a reminder of what can happen when a community comes together to create something meaningful.

The park was built by the community, and today, the team behind SayuParke is once again asking the community for support.

If you have time to contribute to the park committee, or if your family or business can sponsor one month of maintenance with a $3,000 peso donation, your help would make a direct and lasting impact on Sayulita’s children.

Together, we can ensure that SayuParke continues to be a place where laughter echoes, imaginations run wild, and Sayulita’s kids can simply enjoy being kids.
