Excellent place to stay!
La Villa Buena Vida in Sayulita turned out to be far better than all of us expected. Rene, the manager was very pleasant and greeted us at the property. He walked us through each room and explained everything in detail. A welcome note from Melissa was very thoughtful and thorough which began our trip with open communications. She also stayed to answer the many questions asked.

The swimming pool & patio areas were perfect places for the family to gather after a busy day of activities & travel. The rooms were authentic looking & spacious with very comfortable beds, plenty of towels, pillows and also included a well stocked kitchen. Every room had a fan and an air conditioner which made coming In from the humid weather more pleasant.

The location was perfect with a 5 minute walk to the plaza & less than 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff was very kind and accommodating to our large party. Having access to a golf cart made getting around Sayulita convenient and more accessible. Staying at The Villa Buena Vida made our first visit to Sayulita a memorable and wonderful vacation. I will definitely stay here again when I visit Sayulita.

Just what we needed!
We rented Casita Mango at la Villa Buena Vida for a week, it was in a perfect location, easy walking distance of everything. My husband and I were there for surfing and rented a car to have flexibility about where we would go surfing but we never used it for something else. The pool and the outside area is shaded by palm trees which is perfect to cool down after a walk into town.

The inside of the Casita is nice, very clean and big enough so that a friend or child could have been with us since there was a single bed in the living room(the only problem I can see would be that this person would need to pass in the bedroom to go to the bathroom). The bed and bed sheets were more comfortable than at home and we slept really well with the AC. Also they provide beach towels, toilet paper and filtered water. We cooked everyday at the villa and everything we needed was there...just be aware that you need to bring your coal if you want to use the bbq.

The only downside is not about the villa itself: there's a lot of construction in Sayulita and it was really noisy, but I guess it would be the same anywhere you would rent in this town...

Good side: Management

We arrived later than we thought and found Rosie really easily and she was really kind. The owner Melissa was also very quick to answer any questions I had which made it really easy to book.

Excellent value close to the beach and plaza.
Very secure and comfortable facilities , close to everything. We loved the relaxed, shared outdoor cooking or relaxing area, and the upper deck. Bed was comfortable, Primavera rental staff helpful and pleasant, facilities were clean , everything as advertised. Pleasant Mexican neighbourhood with the odd rooster crow or dog bark , to remind you where you are. We loved it.

Perfect and Simple
My husband and I stayed in the studio (Limon) and it was simple, but had everything we needed. The location couldn't be better. We enjoyed having the pool available. The property management company people (Primavera Rentals) were very helpful too.

perfect location & city for a family holiday.. even if your gluten intolerant
We LOVED staying at villa la buena vida. It was perfect for our family!! We have a 5yr old boy and he could easily swim in the pool while we made breakfast, lunch or dinner (bring a life jacket if you have a little one who is still new to swimming as the pool is 5ft deep with a small shallow end). One of the greatest parts of our stay was making friends with neighbors.. we didn't expect this part and it was delightful! Playing music, cooking food outside in the kitchen and hanging out together. We stayed here two weeks and wished we had been able to stay a month. Somedays we didn't even make it to the beach we just hung out at the pool, reading and playing and eating. All the guests were nice and respectful and I was really appreciative there weren't huge loud party groups crashing our peaceful sanctuary. The other wonderful aspect of staying here is it's on the south part of sayulita just a smidge out of the hub & bub of town on a flat road.. no hiking up hills and a quick walk to get fresh produce, visit the tortilleria for fresh tortillas or into town for anything you need or want. You will want to bring or rent your own beach umbrella as buena vida doesn't provide beach toys or umbrella shades. (we bought one and left ours for others to use). Pretty much any food you are used to from home is available in town (although we did bring nut bars, granola, peanut butter and crackers). I didn't seem much in the way of crackers or gluten free bread options. If you are gluten intolerant be sure to bring some of your own things and not all tortillas are gluten free (always ask).. and do NOT eat the mole.. it is made with graham crackers (my husband was sick for days as he's gluten intolerant). It is a very kid friendly city and this was an easy place to stay with kids. If you are sensitive to noise at night bring ear plugs.. there is quite the cacophony of dogs and roosters 24/7! No joke! But i'm addicted to ear plugs anyway so it was fine for us. Our apt was cleaned every 4 days by very nice folks. We felt safe and our items were safe. There is also a locked safe so you can keep your valuables locked up. (leave your wedding rings at home.. your fingers will swell a bit in the heat or folks loose them in the ocean so you'll have them off anyway so might as well leave these items at home). There are atms in town as well as a place to exchange dollars for pesos. We did our exchange in the states at wells fargo for $5 and i think we got a better rate and less fees. But it's what ever you are comfortable doing. We ate everything from everywhere and by day 5 our son walked barefoot the whole time. It's a great place to visit, these casitas are great (we loved the full kitchen 1 bedroom) and the town is easy and charming and friendly. The staff at the rental facilities were all wonderful and very helpful. We will definitely stay here again!

Wonderful get away!
Clean spacious place! Casa Buena Vida would be great for vacationing with extended family (everyone can have their own apartment, but can also hang out in the communal area together). WIFI worked well. Getting to Casa Buena Vida from PVR was easy by bus and foot (we didn't have a lot of luggage). The location was perfect for us: away from the busy center, but close to everything. Email communication was quickly responded to by the owner as well as the property managers. Everything went smoothly!

This quaint little surf town won our hearts a little over a year ago. I enjoy exploring new beaches and conquering the waves with our shaky surf skills. We have one fur-baby, Charlie, who loves playing in the sand or just lounging around under a palm tree.I am a preschool teacher here at the local private school and my husband, Juan Luis, is an architect.
