On April 22nd, Sayulita’s beach will become more than a place to gather—it will become a space to celebrate the stories, the people, and the deeper heartbeat of this community.

The Healing Power of Mexico is a collaborative book created by local and international authors who call the Bahía de Banderas region home. It is a collection of lived experiences—stories of healing, culture, resilience, and belonging—woven together to reflect the true spirit of Sayulita and its surrounding communities.

Within its pages are names many will recognize, but stories few have fully heard.

Yasmina of Yasmina Restaurant shares a moving reflection on land, lineage, and food as medicine—revealing the deeper layers of nourishment and connection that have made her space so meaningful to so many. Ushuaïa, through the Gathering Women’s Circle, opens a window into the quiet yet powerful spaces where women have gathered for years in support, truth, and transformation.

Martha shares the story behind Escuela Cooperativa—a vital initiative supporting families in Sayulita. This is more than a school; it is a community-led effort funded entirely by donations, providing access to early education for local children without financial barriers. Her story speaks to what is possible when a community comes together to care for its next generation.

Kathleen takes us behind the scenes of how Mujeres Movimiento began, revealing the heart, determination, and grassroots effort that built what is now a vital support system for women and families in the region.

Together, these stories—alongside many others from Mexican neighbors, local practitioners, and long-time residents—form a tapestry of Sayulita that goes far beyond what is seen on the surface.

A Book with Purpose

This is not just a book to read—it is a project designed to give back.

All net proceeds from book sales are donated to Mujeres Movimiento, a local non-profit dedicated to supporting Mexican women and their families through health services, education, and economic opportunity.

Through this work, women gain access to professional care—including physiotherapy, psychology, and clinical nutrition—as well as programs that create pathways to financial independence and stability for their families.

Every book purchased becomes part of that impact.

This project has been a true collaboration—volunteer-driven and rooted in connection. It was brought to life by the very people who live here, who have built businesses, raised families, and contributed to the evolution of Sayulita over decades.

Published to professional standards by Influence Publishing, and led by Julie Ann—who made Sayulita her full-time home in September 2025—this book bridges professional publishing with authentic, grassroots storytelling.

At a time when Sayulita continues to grow and change, this book captures something essential: the real stories, the deeper history, and the human connections that hold it all together.
