Help Us Identify Sayulita’s Mural Artists
Sayulita is more than a destination — it’s an ever-changing, living canvas.
Longtime community members Robert Sean Lewis (aka Rafiq), a Canadian novelist, and Camilla Fuchs, a professional photographer from Austria, are currently collaborating on a stunning coffee table book dedicated to the murals and street art of Sayulita.
This project goes beyond showcasing the visual beauty of these works. It dives into the stories, symbolism, and cultural meaning behind the murals — many of which are deeply inspired by Huichol art and traditions. The goal is to honor both the artwork and the artists who have helped shape the vibrant spirit of this town over the years.
While many of the muralists have already been identified, a few remain unknown — and that’s where the Sayulita community comes in.
We’re inviting locals, residents, and anyone familiar with Sayulita’s art scene to help us connect the dots. If you recognize any of the artists behind the murals shown below, or know someone who might, your insight would be incredibly appreciated.

This beautiful book — filled with striking photography and rich cultural context — is expected to be available as early as May. It’s designed to become a timeless piece for homes, hotels, and businesses in Sayulita and beyond.
Thank you for helping give credit where it’s due and for being part of preserving the stories behind these incredible works of art. 💛
