Sayulita local Alfredo Moreno has been baking ever since he can remember. However, it wasn’t until this last March of 2020 when Alfredo decided to put his expertise in baking to good use in Sayulita, and he officially began Alfredo’s Bread Sayulita with the vision to help bring the community together during the difficult time of the Covid outbreak and quarantine. Alfredo wanted to help people who were feeling isolated and disconnected through the joy of sharing delicious food, as well as by encouraging people to share their own creations and recipes using his bread. Now Alfredo makes and sells a delicious variety of homemade breads passed down from family traditions. Alfredo talks more about what makes his bread unique and how Alfredo’s Bread Sayulita all began with the goal to help bring people together.

Hi everyone; if you have been following my recipes, you already know that I LOVE pizza! I have already shared recipes with you for regular pizza crust, a cauliflower pizza crust, a maiz tortilla pizza crust, and in today’s recipe I am sharing a delicious pizza bread! I have been following a keto diet/lifestyle for a couple of years, and the two things that I have missed the most are delicious bread and pizza; this recipe satisfies both of those cravings.

Are you finding yourself bored during quarantine? Get the family together and spend some time trying out a new and fun recipe!. Everyone loves a good batch French fries; this recipe, however, for “Avocado Fries” is a healthier take on the classic and beloved snack, that everyone in the family will surely love! The best part is that it’s always Avocado season in Sayulita! I had not even heard of avocado fries until a couple of weeks ago; my husband and I happened upon them on the menu at one of the beach restaurants here in Sayulita! Being a foodie and because I love avocados, I just had to try them.

Tortillas. We eat them all the time in Sayulita, and tacos are a staple. As you may be aware, I try very hard to stay away from carbohydrates, so I am always looking for a good low-carb tortilla shell recipe, and today I found it in my own kitchen! The best part is that all of the ingredients can be found here in Sayulita or close by in Bucerias. So if you still want to enjoy tacos but with a guilt-free, low-carb tortilla, then give this recipe a try!

In my last column, I promised you a most delicious, easy to prepare, and even easier to eat, pan-roasted Dorado in a butter-lemon sauce. Did you know that Dorado is also called Mahi Mahi? This is the Hawaiian name for the fish, and the Spanish name is Dorado. This is a true Dolphin fish; not the dolphin mammal. I didn’t know this, so I used to never eat Dorado, but now it is one of my favorite fish to cook here in Mexico! All of the ingredients for this recipe are available here in Sayulita, and fresh Dorado is especially easy to find in our coastal beach town of Sayulita, full of fresh seafood.
