Can you tell us a little about yourself and what brought you to Sayulita?

“I’m Claudio, the founder of Mod Society Music. For the past 15 years, I’ve been producing luxury weddings and events with live bands and DJs throughout New York City and destinations around the world.

I first came to Sayulita years ago and completely fell in love with the town. The people, the culture, the surf, the food, and the incredible energy kept bringing me back every winter. Eventually, it became a second home. It only felt natural to begin sharing what we do best with couples choosing to celebrate one of the biggest days of their lives here in paradise.”

What inspired you to start this business here?

“Sayulita has become one of Mexico’s premier wedding destinations, attracting couples from all over the world. I saw an opportunity to bring the same level of professionalism, musicianship, and unforgettable entertainment that we’ve built our reputation on in New York to destination weddings here.

Our goal is simple: give couples a world-class party while embracing the relaxed, joyful spirit that makes Sayulita so special.“

What’s something most people don’t know about your story or journey?

“Music has always been my first love. I started on drums, later studied jazz vibraphone in college, and eventually found my passion playing bass. That passion grew into building Mod Society, a company that’s now performed at hundreds of weddings and events.

What most people don’t realize is that every event still feels personal to me. I genuinely love seeing a packed dance floor and knowing we helped create one of the happiest days of someone’s life.”

What makes your business unique in Sayulita?

“We combine the energy of a world-class live band with the flexibility of a professional DJ, creating completely customized entertainment from the ceremony through the last song of the night. Whether it’s an intimate beachfront wedding or a large destination celebration, every performance is tailored to the couple. We don’t believe in cookie-cutter playlists or scripted shows. Every wedding has its own personality.”

How would you describe the vibe or spirit of your service?

“High-energy, elegant, fun, and completely centered around the couple. We love reading the room, keeping guests engaged, and creating those unforgettable moments where every generation ends up on the dance floor together.“

Is there an experience that’s especially close to your heart and why?

“My favorite moment is always when the formalities are over and the dance floor truly comes alive. There’s something magical about watching families and friends let loose together, singing at the top of their lungs and making memories they’ll talk about for years. That’s why we do what we do.“

What does being part of the Sayulita community mean to you?

“It means becoming part of something much bigger than our business. Sayulita has welcomed me for years, and I’m grateful to now contribute to the local wedding community by working alongside incredible planners, venues, photographers, caterers, and vendors who make destination weddings here so special.“

Do you collaborate with any local artisans, organizations, or causes?

“One of the things I love about Sayulita is how supportive the local business community is. We enjoy collaborating with local wedding professionals and always look for opportunities to work with talented vendors who help create amazing experiences for our couples.”

How do you see your business supporting or giving back to Sayulita?

“Destination weddings bring people from around the world to Sayulita, and we hope to contribute by helping those couples fall in love with the town just as I did. When guests have an incredible experience here, they come back, recommend Sayulita to friends, and continue supporting the local economy long after the wedding weekend.“

What’s your favorite way to spend a morning in Sayulita?

“A sunrise surf session followed by breakfast and coffee at one of my favorite local cafés. It’s the perfect way to slow down and appreciate everything that makes Sayulita special.”

What’s one song, scent, or memory that captures Sayulita for you?

“For me, it’s the sound of the ocean mixed with live music drifting through town on a warm evening. That combination instantly reminds me why I love being here.”

We’re also constantly expanding our repertoire, refining our performances, and finding new ways to create an even better experience for every couple we work with.“

“We’re looking forward to another exciting wedding season and can’t wait to celebrate with couples from around the world who have chosen Sayulita for one of the biggest moments of their lives. We have one really fun wedding in November to kick off the season!“
