Our stay was fantastic!
Our trip was seamless. We were here for our sons wedding so family gatherings were important to us. The location was perfect. Private but accessible. My niece and her husband stayed int he guest house and loved it. Also, off street parking for our golf carts or cars.

My husband and I travel a lot and Iris went over the top to accommodate us. The views are spectacular and the bedrooms are separated enough so we didn't feel like we were on top of each other at all. It was very warm and humid when we were here so the pool was a life saver.

Rocio the house keeper was fantastic. Always showed up on time and always made things look like it was our 1st day. Also, the grounds always looked great - Thank you David

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!!!!

Great Northside Beachside Location and View
The only reason for two stars is that the location and views from Casa Mariluna are fabulous. Just to share a few challenges that made our 7 week stay in the Casa Mariluna and Casita unpleasant:
-The photos are old. Please note the last review of this house was in 2020. Not
much upkeep since that time. The furniture, appliances, linens, pillows, rugs, etc. are old and shabby. Coffee pot and hair dryer had to be replaced.
-Safes in bedrooms were not working when we arrived. We put all of our money for 2 months into a locked safe downstairs by the kitchen which we thought was working. It was robbed on our second night while we were upstairs sleeping! Lost thousands of dollars in pesos. Filed a police report but no one can understand how the safe was accessed without damage. Two security cameras and multiple outdoor lights were not working. Owner then fixed cameras, lights and installed a small metal fence (which can be climbed around).
-We were assured the whole house purification system was working upon arrival. After a week of everyone being very sick, we were told “oh- we found out it’s not working”. We didn't’ drink the water but did wash dishes, vegetables, etc. Took 3 weeks to fix.
-No dryer available for the first two weeks waiting for installation of new one.
-Water went out one day and there were multiple days without hot water in Mi Casita
-TV in guest room doesn’t work. We bought an HDMI cable to try and fix. Too old.
-Owner scheduled construction and maintenance while we were there, adding to the Monday-Saturday new house construction noise in front of the home.
-Mi Casita had what appeared to be black mold on the ceiling tiles. Our friend who rented it had a bad cough for several weeks. When we reported it to the owner she said it wasn’t black mold. Our friend moved into Mariluna with us the last 10 days and the coughing stopped. Owner partially reimbursed our friend, then re-rented the Casita after just “cleaning” the ceiling.
Why did we stay? We prepaid for 7 weeks and couldn’t afford to go elsewhere. It’s our third time to Sayulita and we love it there. Our stay last year at Casa Hermosa was fabulous. Highly recommend!

Response from Owner/Manager on 04/05/2023

I arrived in Sayulita a few days after their robbery. I was more than very sorry for their loss. I was shocked at how much cash they decided to bring down with them. He left his backpack and wallet in the open air living room, did not lock the door to where the safe was and the safe never appeared to be broken into. I had a locksmith do an audit on the safe and nothing showed up as unusual going back many months. All so mysterious. He had no travelers insurance for such an extended trip and traveling with so much cash, but expected me to cover his loss. Unfortunately the safe in the other bedroom had been left locked by the previous guests, it was opened and functioned properly.
The safe has been removed from the closet and all three bedrooms have their own safe.
I did immediately ordered an installed a large metal fence (2 mts. high with large spikes at the top) around any access a robber could find to the house.
He never saw the finished fence. no one can get around it.
The whole house purification system needed to be replaced while they were there but they alway had a large bottled of purified water we supplied. I believe they got sick from eating something in town. Many people get sick upon their arrival in Mexico for numerous reasons.
There was no black mold in the Casita, it was tested and found to be effervescense of the tile. It is found everywhere in buildings near the ocean air that reacts to the minerals in the cement and tile. No other guests in the Casita have ever complained of a cough.
The last two years of the pandemic and not having many bookings there was no need for expensive \"upgrades\". Being so close to the ocean is very hard on a house and the appliances and fabrics. When things fail and we are informed, they are replaced.
I was not here of the last two years due to medical issues and I have spent all my time here now upgrading, and repairing issues on the properties. (New windows, reconditioning wood, replacing pillows etc. I have also built a specific laundry room for guests.
There is construction near by of a new house that will soon be completed. There is new construction all over town.
I\'m very sorry for their disappointing experience. I think their loss clouded much of their experience. I\'m sure if they ever chose to return (at a discount), they would have a much better experience.
Sincerely,
Andrea

Phenomenal Property and Vacation
We rented all of the Templo Del Mar properties for 6 nights for our group of 12. The property is breathtaking. The photos do not do it justice. Each of the 3 properties are wonderful and it was perfect for our large group. The open air layout of both the Casa Mariluna and El Templito are perfect for hanging out by the pool with friends while enjoying the beautiful weather and the refreshment of your choice. The location at the north end of the beach was very desirable, since it was much less crowded then further south closer to downtown. Although many suggest renting a golf cart for trips to town, we did not and enjoyed the walk.

The property manager Iris was wonderful - very responsive to our needs. She also cooked for our group of 12 two fabulous dinners! Definitely have some meals catered if you can. It's such a joy to have a home cooked dinner at the property while watching the always spectacular sunset! The shuttle service they facilitated for us to pick us up at the airport and take us back was flawless. I highly recommend using it.

We couldn't have been happier with the experience. Wouldn't hesitate to book this again.

Exceeded our expectations
We were extremely pleased with the Templo del Mar property. We expected Marliluna to be great, based upon the reviews and description. It exceeded those expectations. In addition to the beautiful house and location, the property manager, Iris was fantastic--almost like our own tour guide! Only tip--if you do not like a 15 minute walk to the restaurants-- consider a golf cart, but fine either way.

Gorgeous spot for a pre-wedding brunch!
We had a wonderful time at Casa Mariluna on the Templo del Mar property. Iris, the property manager, was amazing and so quick to call us to see how we were doing. She connected us with a caterer for a special pre-wedding brunch for my sister at Mariluna. Truly the home was amazing and I would go back to this house again! It was a walk down the hill to the beach and the best part was the ability to enjoy peace and quiet when we wanted it and fun at the beach and in town when we wanted that....best of both worlds. We loved it.

Exceptional property!
El Templito on the Templo del Mar estate is unbelievably exceptional!!
On a scale of 1 – 10 I rate this place a 12! Not only did the place have dramatic views and sounds of the ocean, the service provided from start to finish was 5 - star. This home is where you want to be. I travel to Sayulita about 6 times a year and this home is the best one yet. I wanted to move in and stay forever. I will definitely return.

Loved it!
We traveled with another couple to Sayulita and found the amount of space to be perfect for us. The open kitchen is so unique and made for fun dinners in. We also really enjoyed the meal Iris made. The outstanding highlight is the layout and pool area. We spent a lot of time lounging by the pool with frozen cocktails. If you are looking for something off the beaten path, this place is for you!

Great Hideaway
We rented Templito for 4 nights for a long weekend getaway with another couple . We found ithis estate exceptionally charming, clean, and very comfortable. Tucked away among beautiful palms and foliage, but with gorgeous beach and sunset views, we enjoyed ourselves immensely! It was the perfect blend of privacy and convenience. Town just 3 minutes down the road. Businesses were friendly and generous with their hospitality.

Some of our favorite restaurants included Miro Vino for the excellent ceviche and seafood in a dark and quieter location.

We can't wait to go again, and we will seek out Templito as our first choice.

Perfect 40th anniversary celebration
My husband and I took my parents to Sayulita for their 40th anniversary and after continuously searching for places to stay we landed on Templito - and we are so happy we did!! It was absolutely perfect and exactly what we were looking for.

The detached bedrooms provide just enough separation and privacy when needed but the 'open concept' of the house was what really made it special. We were able to relax, sit under the palapa, listen to music and drink cocktails without ever feeling like we were "trapped" inside. It sits on the far end of North Beach - which we really liked because it always felt safe and private.

We also rented a golf cart because my parents are older and my dad has bad knees, but for the sake of going into town (even for my husband and I and were in our 20's) its pretty essential. We walked into town a couple times on the beach but after a few beers and margaritas we were wishing we had our golf cart :) We would absolutely rent Templito again in a heart beat! Andrea (homeowner) and Iris (manager) are easy to communicate with and very accommodating. You will love this property!

My partner and I visited Sayulita 20 years ago, fell in love and bought one of the only beach houses on the north end of the bay then and there. It was a very quiet little fishing village then with a great surf break and friendly people. I now rent out my two houses Mariluna and Templito and enjoy sharing Sayulita and it's experience with others. Sayulita is a very special place that I was lucky enough to have found and had all these years to enjoy.
