This February, Sayulita Life is proud to give back with our monthly $5,000 peso donation — and this month we’re supporting the Sayulita SUP Open, one of Mexico’s most important stand-up paddleboard events and a celebration of ocean culture, sport, and community.

More than just a competition, the Sayulita SUP Open brings together elite athletes, first-time paddlers, families, and friends for three unforgettable days on the water. Inspired by the legacy of the Punta Sayulita Classic and the SUP ISA World Championships, the event reinforces Sayulita as an international reference point for surfing and paddling — while strengthening community connection and environmental awareness.

What is the Sayulita SUP Open?

The Sayulita SUP Open is a premier paddleboard event featuring disciplines such as SUP Surf, Technical Races, and Long Distance. What makes it truly special is its inclusive spirit — professionals, children, families, and enthusiasts all come together in an atmosphere full of energy, learning, and connection with the sea.

📅 When is the 2026 Event?

The 2026 Sayulita SUP Open will take place on March 6th, 7th, and 8th, 2026. Over three action-packed days, attendees can expect competitions for all ages, prizes, recreational activities, and a festive environment that supports local talent while celebrating Sayulita’s essence as a surf destination and vibrant community.

Who Can Participate?

Everyone! The Sayulita SUP Open is open to all ages and experience levels — from professional athletes to those stepping on a board for the very first time. There are recreational categories like the Fun Race, as well as team competitions such as Starship Racing, where up to eight people can paddle together, making it especially fun and inclusive for families and groups.

How Does the Event Benefit Sayulita?

The SUP Open boosts the local economy, promotes responsible tourism, and gives visibility to regional brands and businesses. It also supports environmental awareness through recycling and waste-management initiatives, helping protect Sayulita’s natural surroundings while strengthening our sense of community.
