Why it matters

Surfing is the heartbeat of Sayulita. Hosting an international meet during Muertos weaves sport and tradition—expect heats on the main break, music and altars around town, and community energy from beach to plaza.

Para Surf with Fundación Surfeando Sonrisas

A highlight this year is Para Surf, led by Fundación Surfeando Sonrisas (FSS), the nonprofit that brings adaptive surfing to kids and youth with disabilities. FSS will co-host the Para Surf (Open Mixed) division and run an adaptive clinic on Sunday, Nov 2, 9:00 am–1:00 pm, with trained instructors, safety teams, and specialized gear so every participant can experience the ocean with dignity. They’re welcoming volunteers, surf instructors, and photographers. If you’d like to help—or support their work—learn more and donate at surfeandosonrisas.org/donacion/ and register for the clinic at surfeandosonrisas.org/eventos-post/sayulita-2-de-noviembre-2025/.

Tips if you go

Arrive early, park outside of town and walk, bring water/sun protection, and be respectful of Día de Muertos altars and activities around town.
