Trópikos Beach Club & Restaurant, the freshly opened addition on Playa Amor, is exactly that kind of arrival — a Mediterranean-inspired beach club designed for slow, golden, all-day stays by the ocean. A Family Story, A Fresh Vision

Behind Trópikos is The Blue Shrimp Group, a family-owned restaurant group with more than 25 years of experience and seven restaurants across Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit. Trópikos is the sister restaurant of Si Señor Sayulita, but the new beach club is the brainchild of two brothers within the group who paired their fresh, youthful vision with the company’s deep hospitality roots. The brand has been in development since 2024, and even the iconic star logo carries meaning — each point represents a different element of the Trópikos experience.

Relaxed Chic, Mediterranean Soul

The vibe at Trópikos is what the team calls “relaxed chic” — a balance between laid-back beach energy and elevated style. Picture pool days with a craft cocktail in hand, Mediterranean-inspired décor all around, exquisite dishes coming out of the kitchen, and a DJ holding down the soundtrack from morning into night.

The menu was curated through a collaborative process between the owners and Chef Erika, who brought her own creative touch to a globally inspired mix: Mediterranean cuisine and seafood at the heart, with subtle Mexican influences and a pasta and pizza program rounding it out. Each dish reflects the team’s vision for an experience that lingers — the food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality all of a piece.

Plugging Into the Community

What sets Trópikos apart isn’t just the facilities or the food — it’s how quickly the team has plugged into the Sayulita community. They’ve been intentional from day one about hiring locally and featuring Sayulita-based DJs, and they’ve already participated in surf tournaments, private local gatherings, wellness events, and fundraisers, including a recent benefit organized by Casita Alebrije.

“We see Trópikos as an active part of the Sayulita community — supporting it through job creation, collaborations, and offering certificates and experiences for community initiatives. For us, it’s about growing together.”
