Please tell me a bit about yourself? 

My name is Israel Preciado, I was raised between here and Punta de Mita, and I work as a real estate agent at Garcia Realty, In addition to my real estate endeavors, I also have a passion for surfing. As a surf instructor and guide, I enjoy sharing my love for the waves with locals and visitors alike. But my involvement doesn't stop there. I am also the proud organizer of Mexi Log Fest, an internationally recognized longboard event. This competition attracts 178 of the world's best longboarders hailing from 31 different countries. The Mexi Log Fest has become a celebrated gathering, showcasing the skill, style, and camaraderie of longboarding while promoting our community as a premier surfing destination.

Can you tell me about what inspired you to start your business? 

Thanks to my love for surfing and traveling, I've had the privilege of visiting numerous incredible countries and immersing myself in their diverse cuisines. Living in this picturesque fishing village year-round and witnessing its growth over the past 30-plus years, I've grown weary of the monotonous tourist food that most restaurants here tend to offer.

What services do you offer? 

Catering, family-style dinner experiences, wine tasting, agave spirits tasting, private dinners/parties, restaurant takeovers, and live music.

Tell me a bit about your background in this industry?

I have worked at many different restaurants in the area, including El Coral restaurant in Punta de Mita, Tigre’s Restaurant, as well as El Anclote restaurant in Punta de Mita, and I started the first fish tacos restaurant in town.

At Tukari Restaurant Bar, we are committed to using local and organic produce to create a dining experience that is not only delicious but also sustainable. Our menu features a range of dishes that stand out from the offerings of most restaurants in the area. In addition to catering to tourists, we place a special emphasis on taking care of our local customers. We understand the importance of building strong relationships within the community, and we strive to create a welcoming environment where locals feel valued and appreciated. 

Located in the heart of town, Tukari Restaurant Bar provides a tranquil space away from the hustle and bustle of the streets. We have purposefully designed our space to offer a peaceful and quiet ambiance, free from the noise, dust, and distractions often found in busy areas. This tranquil setting allows our guests to fully immerse themselves in the dining experience, creating a relaxing atmosphere where they can truly enjoy their meals.

What are your future plans for Tukari?

We have plans to add a new outdoor dining terrace.

Our ultimate goal is to be recognized as one of the best restaurants in the area.
