1. Who is the donation going to?

Mar y Vida program, a local non-profit summer surf camp, created by local surfer Risa, Centro Creativo and Centro de reciclaje.

2. What is the organization and what do they do?

Mar y Vida is a free camp offered to a select group of around 12-15 local kids that show promise in school and their local Sayulita community. The surf camp has a fun-filled itinerary including surf lessons, daily lunches provided by local businesses such as Don Pedros , La Rustica, and a sailing tour by local catamaran tour company Ally-Cat as well as art classes, bird watching, hikes, gift bags, and more.

Bahia de Bandera's lifeguards also provide Ocean Safety courses such as CPR and basic first aid. The camp provides an array of activities to ensure the children stay active, entertained, and engaged all the while creating a fun educational experience.

3. How long has Mar y Vida been around?

The organization was created 5 years ago to give back to our Sayulita community and their children.

4. What will the money be used for?

Sayulita Life’s $5,000 donation will be put towards the activities, rash guards, food, materials, and the sailing tour. Fortunately, there were extra funds left over from last year's Mar y Vida program! In order to maximize their impact, we allocated these funds towards “El Centro Creativo”, enabling us to extend complimentary art classes and even theater classes throughout the fall season. Additionally, a portion of the funds was dedicated to supporting the Recycle Center by providing essential supplies for their operations.

6. Anything else to add?

We warmly welcome individuals to join us on the beach during our surf sessions, creating an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere. Moreover, we are proud to mention that donations made towards our camp are tax deductible, providing an additional incentive for individuals to support our cause.
