Welcome to Sayulita Surf School, where we have been sharing our passion for surfing for over 35 years. Our school is locally owned by a national champion who has dedicated his life to surfing and teaching others how to catch the perfect wave.

At Sayulita Surf School, we offer a range of services to meet the needs of surfers of all levels. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced surfer, we have the knowledge, skills, and equipment to help you achieve your surfing goals.

Our lessons are designed to provide a safe and enjoyable learning experience for all students. We have a team of experienced instructors who use proven teaching methods to help students improve their skills and build their confidence in the water.

If you need equipment, we offer a wide selection of high-quality surfboards, long & short boards available. We will help you choose the right board for your needs.

For those looking for a more immersive surfing experience, we also offer surf trips to some of the best surf spots in the area. Our trips are led by experienced guides who know the local breaks and can help you catch some of the best waves of your life.

We Will Book Here Again!

The crew took care of our group from the moment we stepped onto the beach. The instructors kept it simple and fun. We had 7 teenagers ranging in age from 13-18 yrs; 4 boys and 3 girls. The instructors were very encouraging and the kids had a great experience and were wanting more. When we come back, we’ll be signing up with Sayulita Surf School again.

This Was More Than Just a Surf Lesson :)

This was an amazing experience. Our family of six (in age 46 years to 13 years) all went surfing for the first time with Sayulita Surfing School. Sergio (the owner) was absolutely amazing! He met at the beach, provided rash guards, surf boards and instructions. Everyone we worked with at the school spoke good English and language was not a barrier. After technique instruction on land, Carlos and Hose took out to surf. They were patient, encouraging, knowledgeable, and got everyone up! In addition, after our lessons Sergio took us on a walk around town, showing us where to get the best smoothies, burritos, and local food. Then while the boys went back out to try surfing on our own, (he let us use the surf boards as long as we wanted without additional charge) Sergio took the girls to the flea market to shop. A photographer took high-quality pictures during our lessons and provided them (over 600 pictures) on a drive for a very reasonable price. We were grateful to have the memories documented in pictures! I cannot say enough good about our experience with Sayulita Surfing School!

The Perfect Day In The Water!

Worth every penny

I had a great lesson that ran well beyond the amount of time they quoted me. I was standing on my board by the second wave. I really felt like I got my money's worth and had a great lesson. I'd recommend this school to anyone looking to take a beginner lesson and they even do intermediate lessons as well. Really nice crew.

If youre a beginner, this is the place for you :)

My sister and I took a lesson from Patricio and we were very happy! He quickly taught us the basics of standing up and technique before spending a majority of the time helping us catch waves. My sister was terrified of the idea of surfing but she came out loving it and was able to stand up on the board and surf a majority of the time. They have the idea that if you don't stand by the end of the lesson, you don't pay for the lesson. It is 700mxn for group lesson and 800 for a private. Overall, wonderful experience, I really feel like I have the confidence to go proactice surfing on my own now!

The Best Day

Sergio & Co. were great. Location right on the beach. They started us on a very gentle break and had everyone up and surfing within minutes. Instructor was very encouraging to newbies, and gave good tips as we progressed. Super fun day.

Best Day In The Water

This was my third time out on a longboard. Sergio correctly adjusted me to a 9ft board, in the past instructors had me on an 8ft. Best day on the water yet. The next day I was ready to go on my own. Young Jose was my instructor, and he really helped me figure it all out. Definitely recommend.

Great experience from start to finish. Good prices, friendly and helpful.
Jose was a great teacher and my girlfriend and I both stood up and surfed immediately with him.

The owner Sergio was very friendly and helpful as well. We came back the day after our lesson and rented boards and will do so again when we are back.
