Casa Humaliwo in Litibu

Amazing location the perfect place to get away and relax. Quiet, on the beach, beautiful pool and home. It’s complete relaxation and getaway from the everyday hustle. And close to town as well. The perfect vacation.

I've stayed here many times over the last decade, both with groups of friends and my family.
I'll make 2 cases here: 1. Why Litibu; 2. Why this property.

WHY LITIBU!
If you're looking to escape the tourists, this is the spot! I stayed in Sayulita for years, but when it became too touristy for me, this little gem in Litibu became my go-to. Litibu is close enough to head into bigger towns for day trips or to go out at night, and then you get to retreat back to your own strip of quiet paradise. OR you never have to leave the neighborhood during your stay! Spend your days beach or poolside, and head into Higuera Blanca (adjacent neighborhood with little convenient stores) for an ice cream bar mid-day. I've done it both ways.
Speaking of paradise, the house is mere steps from the beach, and the only beach goers here are the locals that live in the neighborhood (mostly Mexican and a few expat). I feel incredibly safe heading down to the beach by myself to tan or for an early morning dip. Bonus: in the last few years, a few restaurants came to the beach and set up shop within walking distance of the house. Great beach-front, open-air spots for a romantic sunset dinner. Kilometro 5 also deserves a shout out - a fun restaurant/bar with a trendy shop right outside the entrance to Higuera Blanca.

WHY THIS PROPERTY!
Setting expectations here: if you're bougie and looking for luxury, stay in a hotel. If you have an outdated obsession with all white everything and boho decor, go to Tulum. If a local experience, in a home with so much charm, is for you, then Casa Humaliwo is it. I've fallen in love with the colorful walls and thatched roof. I've had house call massages in the top room during sunset. The property lends itself to wonderfully to indoor-outdoor living, with a large patio off the kitchen for sharing group meals, watching the sunset, and after-hours game nights.
There are 3 separated living spaces: a main house and 2 smaller units, which make it an extra perfect set up for 3 couples traveling together or for a multi-generational family with 3 groups. Each room (I believe) has a king bed, and wide daybed/couches for the kiddos are found within the main house and one of the smaller units. Keep in mind, there are stairs to get up onto the property and to the smaller units.

I have taken 4 trips in total to this impeccable house. The photos don't do it justice. The location is local, but close to the resorts and high end towns. The stretch of beach is private, local and across the street. The house itself has everything you could need- 3 full bedrooms located in different structures to provide privacy and seclusion. I have been there full of friends or just with a romantic partner and they both create a welcoming atmosphere everyone is wowed by. The upper Palapa is my favorite, open all the windows and screens for the best breeze in town. If you crave a more resort atmosphere you can have lunch at the Four Seasons or the Imanta and get the ultimate in resort living, while paying a fraction of the price for your compound. I cannot wait to visit again.

I stayed here on my second visit to Mexico, and I absolutely loved it! It was the perfect escape from the stresses of life. It felt like I got a more authentic Mexico experience being a bit off the beaten path, but at the same time, we were easily able to fly into Puerto Vallarta and go to Sayulita during our stay. The property is literally a few minutes walking distance from Litibu Grill and you can drive a short distance to get to other yummy local restaurants. Kilómetro Cinco is one of them - they had great food, great views, and great vibes, complete with live music. The property is also RIGHT across from the beach which means beautiful sunrise/sunset views and easy access to go swimming. There are also other amazing beaches within a few miles and some great hikes. The pool was lovely if we didn't want to go to the beach, and the accommodations were pretty and cozy! Overall, an amazing stay!

It's been several years now that we rent that beautyfull house the location is perfect. The house is such a Nice and confortable place with very good manager and the pool is awesome love that amigo Eddy the guard dog he is so friendly and knows all the naiborhood love to do it again and again every year. Super recomendado.

I don't know where to begin. This home has so many beautiful details. Every room is charming. I had the pleasure of staying in the main bedroom, which overlooks the ocean. Like, it's right there. I could have stayed in bed all weekend listening to the waves crashing. There's a lot of open air. The breeze is your soundtrack. The showers are super cool. You'll know what I mean when you get there...I don't know how to actually explain that. The pool is perfect for a quick cool off dip or to do some laps. The whole environment in the poolside is delightful. It was hard not to want to spend all my time there as well. But the beach is literally RIGHT THERE and it's a beautiful beach. Litibu is a special place and this beach house fits right in. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.


OH! There's a really cute and sweet restaurant called KM5 a quick two or three minute drive away.
