Casa Humaliwo in Litibu, between Sayulita and Punta Mita is your private oasis located just steps away from the sand on Playa Litibu. A beautifully unique custom family compound with three deluxe master suites around a central private pool with ocean views.
The main house is ideal for entertaining with an open floor plan living room and a fully loaded kitchen where you can listen to the waves crashing and keep an eye on the surf while you prepare a meal. Arched hardwood French doors and windows open out to the pool deck on one side as well as lovely dining area out front under a large covered patio complete with an outdoor cooking area and gas grill. The home is furnished with custom built furniture brought back from travels throughout Asia including two daybeds which can comfortably sleep a couple kids in the living room. The master bedroom has its own set of French doors which open out to the pool deck where you can sit by the fire pit between dips in the pool.
The Green Room is a private suite with expansive accordion doors that open out to it’s own covered patio with ocean views. With the room opened up you can taste the salty breeze coming off the beach as the sound of the waves lulls you to sleep. The spacious high ceiling bathroom tastefully adorned with beach treasures and precious stones, accesses the pool as well.
The Sky Room boasts the most spectacular views of all from its 3rd story perch. Looking to the north is a perfectly framed view of the legendary Monkey Mountain (*a not to be missed hike for the adventurous visitor). This suite has its own kitchen, luxurious bathroom, a King size bed as well as a full size bed option.
Casa Humaliwo is your tropical home away from home and has been in our family for 20 years. You can feel the love and intention that was put into the property over the years in the quality of workmanship, material choices and mindful artistic details throughout the property. - 100% refund if you cancel at least 30 days before check-in.

WHY LITIBU!
If you're looking to escape the tourists, this is the spot! I stayed in Sayulita for years, but when it became too touristy for me, this little gem in Litibu became my go-to. Litibu is close enough to head into bigger towns for day trips or to go out at night, and then you get to retreat back to your own strip of quiet paradise. OR you never have to leave the neighborhood during your stay! Spend your days beach or poolside, and head into Higuera Blanca (adjacent neighborhood with little convenient stores) for an ice cream bar mid-day. I've done it both ways.
Speaking of paradise, the house is mere steps from the beach, and the only beach goers here are the locals that live in the neighborhood (mostly Mexican and a few expat). I feel incredibly safe heading down to the beach by myself to tan or for an early morning dip. Bonus: in the last few years, a few restaurants came to the beach and set up shop within walking distance of the house. Great beach-front, open-air spots for a romantic sunset dinner. Kilometro 5 also deserves a shout out - a fun restaurant/bar with a trendy shop right outside the entrance to Higuera Blanca.
WHY THIS PROPERTY!
Setting expectations here: if you're bougie and looking for luxury, stay in a hotel. If you have an outdated obsession with all white everything and boho decor, go to Tulum. If a local experience, in a home with so much charm, is for you, then Casa Humaliwo is it. I've fallen in love with the colorful walls and thatched roof. I've had house call massages in the top room during sunset. The property lends itself to wonderfully to indoor-outdoor living, with a large patio off the kitchen for sharing group meals, watching the sunset, and after-hours game nights.
There are 3 separated living spaces: a main house and 2 smaller units, which make it an extra perfect set up for 3 couples traveling together or for a multi-generational family with 3 groups. Each room (I believe) has a king bed, and wide daybed/couches for the kiddos are found within the main house and one of the smaller units. Keep in mind, there are stairs to get up onto the property and to the smaller units.
