Vida Surf Sayulita offers private one-on-one and group surf  lessons on Sayulita's main beach, which is the perfect place for beginners to learn to surf. Just like  the conditions of the ocean, the equipment used is very important too, Vida Surf uses quality equipment that allows for the best possible experience. Vida Surf Sayulita has been surfing for more than 17 years, Vida Surf is certified with the International Surfing Association, and in Water Safety by the Red Cross. We got talking to Luis Velasquez, Owner of Vida Surf, heres what he had to say.

Can you tell me a little about yourself?

I am Luis Velásquez, born and raised in Venezuela, I graduated as a lawyer and did a master's degree in public law at the Complutense University of Madrid, I am a professional lifeguard certified by the red cross, a surf coach certified by the international surf association, I been surfing for 15 years, and I am a sports and surfing lover.

How did you land in Sayulita?

My best friends came to live here and they just told me you have to come.  I was traveling between Puerto Escondido, Cancun, and California and once I came I couldn't stop coming until I decided to stay.

How long have you lived in Sayulita?  What is your favorite part?

I have lived in Sayulita for 6 years, and my favorite part is the beaches, the coast, and without a doubt the community of our town, also the surfers, fisherman, and sea lovers' environment.

Can you tell me what inspired you to start your business?

My passion for surfing and the desire to share the happiness this generates in me with others.

Tell me a little about your experience with this industry?

My experience in the surf industry has been very good, I have made good friends and mentors, people with a great spirit, and above all a lot of learning.

How long has your business been in operation?

I gave my first class in Sayulita in 2016 and in 2018 I decided to start Vida Surfing.

What does your business offer that sets it apart from the rest?

The quality of our service, we like to take care of every detail, the passion that we reflect when    sharing our knowledge, and the friendship that we create with our students.

What are your future plans for your business?  Any goals?

Our plan is to continue growing, to be able to establish Vida Surfing as a recognized school in Sayulita, and to continue teaching new high-quality surfers.Our next goal is to have our own infrastructure.

Can you share a happy memory with a customer?

Undoubtedly there are many stories to tell, helping people to build confidence in themselves by overcoming fear through the practice of an extreme sport and the benefits of the sea is the best.

Helping some children and elderly people to let go of their insecurities through this therapy has been very satisfying.

I remember a person who came to surf with us to honor his best friend who had passed away, it was a very emotional session.

Is there something special you want to share?

Just recognize how beautiful the multicultural community of our town is, full of beautiful people and a lot of unity.  When someone in our community needs help, we all come together to rescue them.
