Casa Chicharra in Sayulita is a charming 2 bedroom home. You can check your emails while breathing in the stunning valley view or while you relax by the heated saltwater pool in peaceful Cielito heights. We have fiberoptic WIFI, a peaceful home.
Casa Chicharra in Sayulita is located a 5-minute walk to the plaza and a 7-minute walk to the beach. The pool is exclusively for the bottom unit. The house has a unique indoor and outdoor concept with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We have a lush garden and a private pool to enjoy. Our Casa is located in a lovely neighborhood. There are paved roads into town and we have tucked behind the main scene yet only a five to ten-minute walk to the main beach. We offer a gated parking spot for a golf cart or a car. Service fees are included!

We loved casa chicharra!
My family and I spent about 10 days in Casa Chicharra. It was a great retreat from the bustling Sayulita. The salt water pool was great, the rooftop was amazing and everything was very clean and it had plenty of amenities. We would highly recommend staying there! Ben and Ashley were responsive multiple times (power went out and 1 person in the group had to go to the hospital for a minor injury). We also loved having the driver and golf carts set up :)

A little slice of paradise!
My wife, sister, and I all had the pleasure of calling Casa Chicharra home for 1 week while vacationing in Sayulita. Ashley and her partner Ben were super lovely, sharing all of their local tips and insights, and offered to help us with anything that we needed (from golf carts to fishing trips). The casa is perfectly located above Sayulita, and nestled back from the busy central part of the town. It's super private, like stepping into your own little oasis, with walls all around and a beautiful jungle of plants bordering the pool area. Everything was really great, and would highly recommend staying here.

So nice you may not want to go out
We spent 12 wonderful days here, and honestly had a hard time leaving. The Casa is really well furnished, with possibly the best equipped kitchen we’ve ever had in a vacation rental, comfortable beds and lounging furniture. We spent hours just hanging out on the deck watching all the birds that hung out in the giant tree in the yard. We found walking to and from the center really easy, yes there is a short hill, but totally manageable (we are 63 and 75), and the pool was perfect for cooling down in afterward. We also rented a golf cart for a week, which was fun and there is a secure gated parking spot for it. Ashley and Ben were great hosts, quick to respond to any question and really nice to interact with.

Home away from home
Great home, lovely hosts. An oasis that we enjoyed returning to after a long day out in Sayulita's busy life. For us it was well worth the easy walk to town (yes there’s a hill) to have the peace of being apart from the nightlife. The neighborhood was calm when we stayed and that’s just how we liked it. The host was very attentiveand helped organize our transport from the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved our vacation!
Enjoyed the décor and open floor plan, the pool, and the location - silent but close to everything. The hosts were very attentivewith all the arrangements and were always available to answer any questions or make recommendations.

My friend and I had a great time here. Ashley and Ben were the best. Super friendly and attentive, great communication. The house is stunning. Loved hanging out by the pool. The front area was filled with beautiful birds, geckos, and the occasional large iguana :) Super quick walk to downtown and the beach. Ashley set us up with a car service that picked us up from the airport, stopped at a bank and grocery store, then took us back at the end of our trip. Highly recommend. Made the trip fun and seamless. Can’t wait to visit and stay at the house again someday!

My name is Ashley and my husband Benjamin and I own Casa Chicharra and look after several other properties here in Sayulita. Ben and I met while I was visiting with some girlfriends for a bachelorette weekend. Ben was the host at our rental house- the rest is history! Ben is from Nayarit originally and has been working as a property manager for almost ten years. I am originally from Los Gatos, California and before I moved to Sayulita I was a middle school teacher in San Jose. I am also a monotype printmaker. Ben and I purchased our casa in 2019, on Valentine's Day and began renovations. We added a pool, new exterior windows, stylish furnishings, custom art, and a second full bathroom. A few months after the pool was installed, we were sitting outside admiring the valley when we heard the first cicadas calling the rain. That's when we decided to name the house Casa Chicharra, or cicada house, after the little insects that begin their call prior to the rains. After naming the house, we looked into the symbolism of cicadas and they represent personal transformation and love later in life. It is our hope that our guests who stay at our little casa also benefit from the tranquility and peace the casa brings.
