Description
Villa Chicharra in Sayulita is a beautiful, charming, newly renovated two unit 4 bedroom 3 bathroom casa with 2 kitchens and a gorgeous rooftop terrace with a gas bbq grill, located in the tranquil neighborhood of Cielito Heights. Only a 5 minute walk to the heart of Sayulita and a 7 minute walk to the beach, Villa Chicarra and Penthouse is the perfect destination to find peace and tranquility without being too far away from the action. You can rent the whole villa or either top or bottom units separetly.
Villa Chicharra offers a beautiful indoor-outdoor concept with open-air and lovely views of the valley of Sayulita. Spend the morning in the serenity of the lush garden patio, and check your emails while taking in the jungle views and sipping Mexican coffee. Listen to birds, watch dragonflies, and dip into the pool as you enjoy a fresh meal in the outdoor lounge area. The private saltwater pool provides relief from the hot Sayulita days and the perfect oasis to relax and spend the afternoon.
The Space
Villa Chicharra contains one bedroom with a king-size bed, a second bedroom with a queen-size bed, and a futon sofa in the living room, providing a spacious stay for up to 5 guests. Recently renovated with additions such as a beautiful saltwater pool, new exterior windows, stylish furnishings, custom art, and a second full bathroom. Spend a night at home preparing dinner in the modern, fully equipped kitchen or inquire about a private chef.
Casa Chicharra Penthouse is a newly constructed second-story casa with 2 king ensuite bedrooms, 3 full baths, a gorgeous kitchen with an eat-in island, a marble soaking tub, dedicated workspace, covered rooftop terrace with a built in kitchen and bbq grill, and sweeping valley views. There is a spot ouside the gate where you can park and charge your golf cart. The penthouse also has it's own separate entrance.
Villa Chicharra is gated and provides secure off-street parking, concierge service, daily housekeeping, AC, and wifi. Find access to beach towels, beach chairs, and umbrellas for a great day at the ocean!

Villa Chicharra is located in the neighborhood of Cielito Heights. Tucked away behind the main scene yet only a ten-minute walk to the main beach and town center, find quiet and serenity but easily enter the action. Enjoy just a short walk to boutique shops and many of Sayulita's best restaurants. Paved roads make for an easy drive as well.

Home away from home
Great home, lovely hosts. An oasis that we enjoyed returning to after a long day out in Sayulita's busy life. For us it was well worth the easy walk to town (yes there’s a hill) to have the peace of being apart from the nightlife. The neighborhood was calm when we stayed and that’s just how we liked it. The host was very attentiveand helped organize our transport from the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

Enjoyed the décor and open floor plan, the pool, and the location - silent but close to everything. The hosts were very attentivewith all the arrangements and were always available to answer any questions or make recommendations.

My friend and I had a great time here. Ashley and Ben were the best. Super friendly and attentive, great communication. The house is stunning. Loved hanging out by the pool. The front area was filled with beautiful birds, geckos, and the occasional large iguana :) Super quick walk to downtown and the beach. Ashley set us up with a car service that picked us up from the airport, stopped at a bank and grocery store, then took us back at the end of our trip. Highly recommend. Made the trip fun and seamless. Can’t wait to visit and stay at the house again someday!

Incredible hosts and beautiful house
Wow! what a fantastic stay! Ashley and Ben are really the nicest hosts, very professional and always available if you have any questions. Casa Chicharra in Saullita is a Gorgeous house, well designed, beautiful patio with a garden and great pool. We spent so much time just hanging outside in the pool patio area.
The place is super nicley located less than 10 min walk from downtown and a cute little cafe is right around the corner. Everything was very clean and nice touches were left around the house to make the stay exceptional (free bottled water, beach chairs etc…) As soon as we booked with Ashley and Ben, we had fantastic communication with them They booked a private car that picked us up at the airport and provided us with some incredible recommendations. They also both live very close to the house so anything you need, they can help you right away. This place is fantastic and the hosts made our trip very special. Highly recommend staying in Casa Chicharra while in Sayulita!

A perfect get away
We had an awesome week at Casa Chicarra in Sayulita. The property fully exceeded expectations (even nicer than it looks in the photos). A quick walk up a hill from Sayulita town - far enough away from the town center to be quiet in the evenings. The house and garden were super beautiful and taken care of - and the hosts were so friendly and fast to communicate with, and kept in contact throughout the week in case we needed anything. We will for sure be returning.

My name is Ashley and my husband Benjamin and I own Casa Chicharra and look after several other properties here in Sayulita. Ben and I met while I was visiting with some girlfriends for a bachelorette weekend. Ben was the host at our rental house- the rest is history! Ben is from Nayarit originally and has been working as a property manager for almost ten years. I am originally from Los Gatos, California and before I moved to Sayulita I was a middle school teacher in San Jose. I am also a monotype printmaker. Ben and I purchased our casa in 2019, on Valentine's Day and began renovations. We added a pool, new exterior windows, stylish furnishings, custom art, and a second full bathroom. A few months after the pool was installed, we were sitting outside admiring the valley when we heard the first cicadas calling the rain. That's when we decided to name the house Casa Chicharra, or cicada house, after the little insects that begin their call prior to the rains. After naming the house, we looked into the symbolism of cicadas and they represent personal transformation and love later in life. It is our hope that our guests who stay at our little casa also benefit from the tranquility and peace the casa brings.
