Hi! Can you tell us a little about yourself?
My name is Jorge Ruvalcaba, I am an architect and DJ. Since I was a child I have had a musical background as I played the piano and bass. I started my DJ career 22 years ago. I love House music, funk, soul and all of their varieties.
So how did you land in Sayulita?
I came here on vacation in the year 2016 and loved it. At that moment I decided I would come back and start a life at the beach.
How long have you been living in Sayulita? Can you tell us your favorite part about it?
Me and my family started living here in the year 2020. With them I enjoy this lovely small town, the beautiful sunsets on the beach and walking it´s colorful streets and people.
Can you tell us what inspired you to start your business?
During the pandemic music started playing a huge role in my life and I decided to dedicate myself to what I really enjoy. Since then I´ve dedicated all of my energy into adding a soundtrack to the most memorable moments.
What are the services you offer?
My work consists of providing the music for all kinds of parties and gatherings, creating a good musical atmosphere with live analog mixes, exclusively using vinyl records.
Can you tell us a little about your experience in this industry?
There are many different options in the area and for all tastes. In my case, offering vinyl sessions has become my signature and is also rare to find in the bay.
How long has your business been active?
I have more than 20 years of experience and here in Sayulita and the surrounding areas I have been active just over two years.
What does your business offer that sets it apart from the rest?
I am a old school DJ and with my services you will enjoy a classic analog sound that you can only get from vinyl. I have a great funk and house selection that I get mostly from the best record stores in the UK that while without a doubt be memorable in these special moments.
Do you have any future goals and plans for your business?
To keep on meeting interesting people, working on my signature sound and sharing my passion for music.
Any great memories with a client?
I was once contacted to play at a private pool party. When I got there, I realized it was a group of celebrities from Hollywood that were spending the weekend in town and didn’t expect to find a DJ who played vinyl. It was a completely unforgettable evening. These are the kind of things that only happen in a magical place like Sayulita.
