Can you tell me a bit about yourself?

My name is Sol Luciana. I am a woman driven by curiosity, and I am a Nutritionist by profession. Additionally, I practice the art of cooking as an alchemist. I received a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition. Nearing the end of my studies, I specialized in natural food and continued my path toward holistic nutrition. Although I briefly worked in the field of international standardized body measurements for athletes, in 2017 I created #aliment.accion, my project of food in motion, where I sold vegetarian meals. Over the years, this project transformed into a space for cooking and holistic nutrition workshops. My passion is alchemy, and I see the kitchen as the perfect alchemical stage where thoughts, colors, textures, aromas, flavors, and emotions transmute and transform through the alchemy of fire, passion, and intention.

How did you land in Sayulita?

In the midst of my adventurous travels in 2021, I found myself passing through Sayulita with the intention of a brief one-week stay. Little did I know that this charming destination would weave its magic, captivating my heart and extending my visit far beyond my initial plans.

How long have you lived in Sayulita? What is your favorite part?

I have lived in Sayulita for 1 year and a half. It's hard to decide on just one place, but I would say Patzcuarito, both the jungle path and the beach in the morning!

Can you tell me about what inspired you to start your business?

My desire is to expand real food! Cooking that is not only 100% handmade but also made with simple combinations that are very digestion-friendly and filled with intention.

What services do you offer?

The main service that Alimentación offers is holistic cooking for retreats and events. We also provide private chef services for homes and organize circles and workshops centered around cacao. This sacred plant is always present in our services, whether it be in the form of a beverage, dessert, smoothie, or even salads!

Tell me a bit about your background with this industry?

I have been cooking since I was very young because both of my grandmothers, who were homemakers and descendants of Italian and Spanish immigrants, took care of me from infancy to my teenage years. They spent most of their time in the kitchen! In 2013, I made the decision to stop consuming processed food and transitioned to veganism, which led me to cook everything I ate from scratch. In 2017, I took my first steps into selling plant-based food by offering vegan meal plans and gluten-free options.

How long has your business been in operation?

In Sayulita, it will soon be celebrating its one-year anniversary in June

What does your business offer that separates it from the rest?

We strive to make our food easily digestible and body-friendly, so we pay attention to both the menu combinations and the food processes, such as fermentation and soaking. There is also a lot of love involved, as some recipes have been with me for ten years, while others are created spontaneously each day. The presence of ceremonial cacao is something that sets our service apart, especially when we are hired for retreats and special events.

What are your future plans for your business? Any new goals?

Turning Alimentacción into a business of Nutritive Sensorial Experiences, encompassing the alchemy of the body through everything that nourishes us from food (textures, aromas, flavors, shapes, memory, emotion).

Can you share a happy memory with a client?

It's very common during retreats for people to come and express the love they feel in the food we provide, and those moments are always cherished. If I can choose a special moment, I remember a day when I was cooking for a birthday celebration, and the husband of the honoree couldn't find the candles for the cake. So, as I was leaving, I went to buy a candle (the place was a bit far from the stores, and it was nighttime) and returned because I saw him feeling disappointed. I came back with the candle, and the client was extremely moved and couldn't stop thanking me, tears streaming down their face! They even shared a review recounting the story, which was very meaningful to them.

Is there anything special that you want to share?

I strongly believe that food is a powerful way to transmit information, consciousness, and energy in the form of love. It goes beyond the mere chemical composition of the food. That is precisely the vision of Alimentacción: to nourish not only the body but also the spirit and the heart through food. Each dish we prepare carries the intention of bringing that loving and conscious energy with it, to holistically nourish those who enjoy it.
