On Wednesday, April 8th 2020 the Governor Antonio Echevarria Garcia confirmed 18 COVID-19 cases and 3 deaths. The most recent COVID-19 death was in Sayulita's neighboring town, San Pancho Hospital. The woman was from a town neighboring El Porvenir, inland from Mezcales, Nayarit. The other two deaths occurred in Tepic and Acaponeta.
It was a critical Wednesday in Nayarit as the virus increased to 18 confirmed cases in less than 12 hours.
